cut your losses and whack some SPDs on the bottom?
I bought a pair of the UK made DMs a few years back. They were from some special run using a very soft leather and cost over £200 as I recall. I stupidly ended up getting them half a size too big for some reason. The the leather was so soft they didn't hold their shape. After only a month or so of occasional use they'd sort of stretched/collpased into a really unattractive schlubby shape that somehow had the effect of making me feel that I looked like a policeman whenever I wore them with black jeans. Tried to off them on here and no-one was interested. Couldn't be arsed with ebay so donated them to a charity shop when we moved out. Stupid fucking things.
Shameless plug of my sale thread, some proper shoes included - https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/341787/#comment15026398
I could do with some inner soles for various shoes, some thin and some standard. Any suggestions for decent ones?
Cut ‘em out of thin leather? Or are you talking about some cushioning/support?
That would probably do for some, for others it's a bit of cushioning and a bit of making the fit slightly tighter.
These are what I found in the supermarket when I wanted cushioned insoles a while back; they're comfortable, and haven't fallen to bits yet. About 4mm thick at the toe end and maybe twice that under the heel.
Noticed there's a Barker outlet on Cheapside now. Opposite the Tesco near Bank Tube
John Lobb doc well worth a watch
I need some new slippers - any recommendations for a pair that will last? My last pair of Birkenstock felt ones fell apart in about 6 months; the crappy supermarket ones I replaced them with have lasted much better, but are not that comfy.
nice, but £200...
Enjoyed it. Loved the 'archiving'!
I haven’t been able to destroy a pair of pre-Crocs Waldies that I got before the new millennium. :)
It’s all about the Celtic sheepskin.
delving into 'golf club' territory here......

That's the first time I've ever thought "maybe I need a pair of mules"
I was given a pair for my birthday earlier this year. So comfy, much practical etc etc
Sorel are the best slippers I’ve ever had. Warm and comfortable. I abuse mine heavily and they are in perfect nick one year on. I think they’re Falcon II’s.
I have some ugg ones, going strong.
Got some this year, total bangers
