You mean this bit? If so that’s how the spacers are designed to allow for external cable routing if you don’t want to run it through the stem. Modern bikes almost always have at least one horrendous bit of design, this is Cannondale’s. I’ll probably end up going integrated down the road so sleep easy

Off to Bletchley for some bonus kms. Bike even got washed last night. It's about a kilo lighter.

....sorry! I was demolished, physically and mentally, took a lot more out of me than I anticipated. Every time I do it, I forget how tough it is - even the mundane stuff like washing kit and eating/shopping adds up

Final ride on 30th was unexpectedly pleasant; dropped in on the F500 riders at HHV to wave on encouragement, saw Tabs (leading in the pic) and great to see @musa in support, as well as lots of lovely faces. Headed onto Richmond Park with Justinas Leveika, possibly the cheeriest character in Ultra-racing. Listen to some of his stories from the trails ('I accidentally slept in 'the bears living room' from Tour Divide stands out), twiddled out the final lap before swinging back via HHV in the first sunshine the whole experience.

Analogue Strava got another 20k on 31st when I rode to studio and bobbed about SE London for NYE. V grateful the weather was favourable, torrential rain and wind the next few days. Treated myself to a F500 beanie as a reward - quite like the graphic this year, and thought the ad was really good too.

Understand why it's not appealing to some, but hats off to anyone who got stuck in and gave it a tickle.
