• I think these don't actually exist but I thought I'd ask the fountain of knowledge that is this wonderful forum.
I'd be happy to find some without the bosses as I could get them welded one.
Straight rake, chunky ass forks for a 1" steerer and 700c, solid for polo.
    Anyone?

  • I could make some for you?

  • Awesome! How much?

I could probably get a group order together if you're interested?

  • Amen to that. I was thinking otherwise... All-City Big Block forks, get somebody to tack on some canti bosses. The rake on them is only 30mm, which is the lowest I can find from my distributors for a 1" 700C fork.

  • Custom build = out of my price range.
Still looking and will settle for tiny rake without bosses if need be.

    #theimpossibledream.

  • i've got some old potenza forks. no bosses but straight raked, 1'' and 900g of steel which is pretty ard. any good?

this is not a bad idea.... how much are the forks? how much is Ryan charging for weldind the bosses?

    how much?

  • fiver but i looked at them tonight when offering to wicksie and i think they're slightly bent. i can't remember there being anything wrong with them while riding though.

edit: also they are not straight raked. just straight bladed

  • Yep, rake after the steerer on these sadly.
Not sure how much Ryan charges, will ask him.

Aren't those All-City Big Block forks about £40? Plus maybe that again for welding.
    Can get bespoke for that.

  • I think Ryan charges about £30-£40... Was considering doing the same thing to my Sparton 'til the Pomp came along...

  • Is there not an adapter system for forks, then? I really want the Allcity Bigblocks for the DQ, but don't really want to braze onto them incase I later want the DQ to be a track bike.

So if all else fails, just get some Fishers touring forks with the bosses on and put up with 40mm of rake.

  • Yep but I think the're for round forks that are quite wide. Gabes has some.

  • the plate everybody is using in the back, can be use in the front too

  • There are some clips that go round each blade as well, but they come in oval or round and a set size.

    From http://www.kinethic.com/
    Can't see them though.

Maybe the trick fork route is the way to go.

Really? Surely cus of the height you have to lift it to it would interfere with the headtube/downtube on a turn?

  • you could easily be right...

  • Still after these and it looks like I'll have to get the bosses brazed on.
If anyone ever sees some 0 or small rake 1" sturdy bass ass forks, then please please let me know.
    Chairs.

  • I have. they were in USA, Joe teenslay, bought a set, only 30GN delivery at home, but cut off the braze ons. were the ones he was using in the Sparton

  • Are they 1"?
Would prefer to spend a fair bit less than 30gn's as I'll have to pay that to get the braze ons back on.

    Cheers anyway Rik.

  • no, that forks were having the braze ons for V-brakes, and yes 1", and for 30GN an absolutely bargain, only problem is that they where some old stock and there are no more
but anyway, I think you are looking for a needle in a haystack, change frame to 1/8" or be happy with what you have or pay for having the braze ons weld

  • I'm sure £30 is a bargain for those forks but I'm not paying £60 in total which is what it would cost to get the bosses welded on.
Finding 1" 700c with bosses is a needle in a haystack, which is why I'm just after some small rake 1" ones which I'm sure I can find for less than £30 and then pay £30 for the welding.
