Twitter has a couple of posts on it...
This one doesn't look great: http://twitpic.com/31aps2

Now says Fatality on Park Lane. RIP.
The picture has said fatality since it was posted. I'm hoping this is just ill informed as other twitter posts have spoken of lorry vs car and lorry vs bike but no mention of fatality.
Hopefully we will get some good news soon.

RAC says : Park Lane both ways closed, stationary traffic due to serious accident, a lorry and a car involved between A40 (Marble Arch) and A4 Piccadilly (Hyde Park Corner)
-
• #10
so possibly not a bicycle involved at all?
-
• #11
Just read a few news reports / TFL - none mention a cyclist.
Also some guy in the jam on twitter saying he'd like to 'stab the person who crashed for being so selfish'. Prick.

Just look at the picture of him. 16 year old in a land rover. Says it all.

RIP, looked like a horrific scene. Just ridden past the cordon. Black Giant MTB, rear end at 90degrees to the front end, almost unidentifiable. A pair of jeans, black jacket, a pair of croc shoes and broken glasses still at the scene when I passed. Large fixed cab Bridleys? Transport 7.5 tonne lorry with a 'non London' phone number painted on the cab would lead me to personally think the driver is not local and didn't realise what a horrible turning he was on. That said, the bike was at rather a strange position for the damage, in whatever circumstances though, may the rider RIP. My thoughts are with family and friends at this time.

Avoid the western end of Oxford Street/Marble Arch if you can - utter chaos
Rip

• #20
Why does everyone keep saying rest in peace when we've no idea whether he actually die or not?
-
• #21
+1 Ed, I'm going to cross my fingers it's not RIP until it can be properly confirmed :(
-
• #22
It's confirmed - look at post 16

In that case, RIP on another incident that could've easily been avoided.

I've heard reports of a rider down by HGV in Park Lane around lunchtime, has anyone more details?
