Apparently "King Hammer" just put out a new video. But I'm not going to post it here because it doesn't deserve any extra promotion.

Yep, I'll be there around 6.30ish, can't stay much past 8pm though so hopefully there will be no kids/we can negotiate with them.

The team name is Heythrop Lions (as you already know)
Just having a practice session tomorrow, so we'll sort out who is on the team and get them profiles, since i'm the only one with a profile so far
Can a team vary over the course of the league? (aka subs) We have about 10 people who turn up for practice, so it'd brilliant if we could swap the team around so everyone had the chance to play? Couldn't find an official ruling on this...
Sorry for the late PM replying, I've had a ridiculious amount on my plate lately!

• #396
Officially no, only 3 can be on the team, but you can use subs, so effectively yes. Whether that's in the spirit of the rules is another matter...

Rusty Rims v Big Bush Bears (formerly Sour Pussys)
As the teams arrived at the court the football kids went scurrying in to the shadows, they knew the impending clash of the London polo titans which stood before them was not going to be for the faint of heart. The cones were set and the 6 legends poised, front wheels on the goal line, cranks in position and victory in all of their minds.
3...2...1...POLO! and they were off, both teams battling for the ball in fierce mallet to mallet combat, it was not long before the first goal was scored, but there were no cheers of celebration to be heard. A stray pass and some blind panic had ended in an own goal scored by Tom leaving the Rims 1-0 up (1:00). BBB got straight back in the game with some good link ups but the Rusty Rims were always there to block, steal and break. After good play from both teams Adrienne hammered home the equalising goal (2:51); the Bears had a taste for blood and wanted more. For the next few minutes all 6 warriors fought a cut throat battle of brute force and unfathomable skill, the roaring crowd failed to hold in their excitement and the court was awash with gasps and cheers. They were equally matched until Dean went super saiyan and blazed down the court at mach 10, the Bears were left dazed in the shockwave he left behind and could do nothing to counter his punishing blow which resulted in the Rims leading 2-1 (6:30). Again the Bears fought back but after several passes to no man's land the Rusty Rims took advantage and Margs hit them with another goal putting the Rims 3-1 up (8:20). The Big Bush Bears were disheartened, they knew that the battle was over, but could they still win the war? The final whistle blew and both teams retreated to their corners to gather their thoughts and prepare for the next clash.
After a quick turnaround they were ready again, this fixture was still anyone’s game and the teams knew it. Quick sprints and lefterizing moves left Dean one on one with the Bush Bears goalie once again, and once again he punished them for mistakes made up court, 1-0 to the Rims (1:30). It wasn't just Dean who could break though, Tom cranked it up a gear and left 2 of the Rims with a face full of dust. He finished the trail blazing sprint with a shot resembling a heat seeking missile. BOOM! The teams were equal once more (4:00). Fearing for their lives after the link ups and team play shown by the Bears the Rims dug deep and produced two goals in the next few minutes (Dean 5:00, Joni unknown). The 3-1 score line was all too familiar for the Bears but they did not let the bitter taste of a potential defeat stop them from playing full throttle until the whistle blew. Unfortunately it was too little too late and the scores on the doors remained the same, another 3-1 victory to the Rusty Rims.
Once again the teams were ready to charge, this time for the third and final game. The Rims were fighting for smashing victory and the Bears for their polo lives, neither team was going to let off the gas. It wasn't long for blood to spill and the crowd to get what they wanted, Joni raced in to the opposing half straight off the charge and blasted the ball through the cones. Only seconds in and the Rims were up (0:30). Fast paced play, more breaks and more link ups from the Bears played out for the next few minutes. The Pot Belge they had hoovered up during the interval was working and despite being a goal down there was no doubt that they were controlling the game. Two goals was their reward with both Tom (1:55) and Adrienne (5:15) showing the Rims who was boss. The game reached the final minute with the Bears still in control but with nothing to lose the Rims played out of their skins and Dean squeezed in the equaliser (9:20). WHAT?!?!? the Bears were shocked, unsure what had just happened. The victory they thought was surely theirs for the taking was slipping away, desperate play from both teams in the dying seconds ensued but neither team could produce a goal before game was called.
All 6 of the brave knights which stood before the crowd had fought a close and tiring battle, they were drenched in sweat and panting for air but at last it was all over. The skilful ninja approach of the Big Bush Bears failed to work against the power of the Rusty Rims gladiatorial play and the teams earned themselves 1 and 7 points respectively on the table. More practice with link ups and passes and the Bears will be a grizzly team to face for any opponent and some deeper thinking and more refined tactics will make the Rims a formidable force. As the dust settled both teams walked out the court with their heads held high, looking forward in anticipation to the next fixture on the calender.*
