has anyone any experience (especially at the velodromes) with them? similar to deep-v, but tubular.

No experience, but you can see it's very strong, very heavy and marginally more aero than a box section. Nothin' special, but suitable for you training/do-it-all wheels if you can stand the weight. GP4 will save you over a 100g per rim AFAIK.

Seems heavy for a tub? Deep V clinchers are only 520g are they not?
