  • Just got back from riding my Ultimate in the Alps, it was a great bike for this, much more comfortable than the Basso Diamanté I took a couple of years ago.

  • Yes, there is still some slight ghostmarks though.

@amey It rides brilliant, don't really know about the amount of drop, the fitter actually suggested a -17 stem.
There is a expander in there.

  • Did canyon send you an expander? Did you have to pay for it?

  • Yes, i ordered the low top cover from Canyon. But it took them a month after i got the first one that didn't fit sending a new expander ...

  • My Ultimate Al is now done... Need to get some decent pics and probably a longer stem.

    @amey is yours built yet?

If you order the low stack headset cover it's just standard not the Acros thing, and comes with the oversize expander (well, mine did)

  • That Canyon is luuuuuush!

What size is it, if you don't mind me asking?

  • Here's my Roadlite. Planning to upgrade to the Aeroad (model with Reynolds wheels and di2) later this year. Will keep the c24s as climbing wheels and will put the Mavics that came with the Roadlite back on, using it as a wet weather bike.

  • Tempted to buy an Ultimate CF SL on their website but sadly none in stock in my size for last couple of weeks. Anyone know how long it takes them to get new stock?

  • Anyone own a new aeroad that is local to SW London? Have been mulling over buying one but not being able to test ride it is really bugged me. Thinking of using it as my sunday bike to replace my aging BMC road racer. Also unsure whether it is suitable for this.

  • Photo of my 5 year old Ultimate CF. Hasn't changed much in a couple of years, but got a few plans for things in the next few weeks which should be nice

  • Where's the photo? :)

    Edit: It shows up now!

  • Yeah, upload fail, sorted it eventually

  • Cool. Bike looks good! What are the plans?

  • Thanks :)

Plans are; modern drops and a 120 mm stem (which puts the drops in about the same position, but gives me a flat transition), new wheels (which have taken me 9 months to get round to building!), and possibly a swap to a DA crankset, if I can get it to match the Ultegra SL finish.

  • Did the Bournemouth ride with a wobbly saddle bag did you?

I reckon Tiagra 4700 should give you that new 11 speed hood shape but in 10 speed option.

  • Ah yes, way back in 2012!

Hoods shape is not the problem, it's the classic curve of those bars. Have some cheap P-X ones now and they're fine

  • No deep crabon? =(

  • Carbon still too bling for me! Close enough though...

  • Flo? nice!

Look forward to this getting built then! This you winter beater ;)

  • I think I may have managed to round off either the headset grub screw or the 2mm allen key on my acros headset. Anyone know where I can get replacements? Tempted to just get a traditional headset as have never got on with acros.

  • Where are you based? I have one you could borrow in the mean time until you can get a replacement

  • After months of thinking and spending, my new/rebuild is completed:
