  • I think it's gonna be blowy and showery on saturday at least

  • Yeah sorry we had to cancel, the car park is small and hill very narrow so it would be impossible to police the rule of six.
Also there are two or three locals that would love to kick up a fuss and get it banned all together so a year off is probably the best option.
It is only the second time since World War 2 that it has been cancelled the last being 1987 after the big storm blew half the trees down .

  • Weather looks wack on Saturday!

  • Entered the National. Wasn't going to bother as it's too short for me but hey, why not.

  • Hurrah! Living the hill climb season vicariously through your efforts.

    No pressure!

The nationals are suited to the part anaerobic monsters like Calum and the 8w/kg+ for 3 minute crowd?

  • Perhaps of interest to someone here?

    *not mine

  • I entered that Brighton ‘hilly’ TT. Have to ship a kg or so first.

  • Am I always the sceptical one when an ebay listing says "super light" but they never actually mention the weight!

  • Nice one, with all the local lockdowns gonna be fascinating to see who actually makes it to the start line...

  • It's a real shame that Ed Laverack can't compete now. The hill doesn't suit him but you'd want to defend your title!

  • Really tempted by that TT. There's actually quite a lot of choice that Sunday though. LVCC on Mott St, Farnham RC in Alton and another short one in Hertfordshire that I've not raced before. Leaning towards Farnham RC but the Hertfordshire could be a sneaky win depending on who turns up.

  • Cmon it’s more fun than just 1 hill, right?

  • Planet X shallow tubulars are not made any more, and budget hill climb wheel approved.

I think a wheelset is around 1050-1100g, with the rims weighing about 250g each.

  • I’m one of those dickheads who asks the weight of items on eBay even if completely irrelevant.

Also if they actually weigh it and respond, more likely to be a genuine item and seller and less likely to be stolen.

  • Just checked out the course, it doesn't even go up Steyning Bostal! I'm out.

  • My possible hill climb chariot escaped, Cervelo RCA, probably for the best for the moment.
Mott Street is this weekend, when is the Hilly Brighton TT?

  • I’m thinking I might go TT bike.
    Or maybe the Cannondale.
The times are quite fast tbf.
(Of course this is pending acceptance)

  • Bugger I’ve missed the Brighton Double header entry closing date :-(

  • Worth an email to the organiser?

  • If they've not published the start sheet you could be in with a chance. I've done it once before.

  • Worth saying the "hilly" time trial isn't that hilly and has a fairly decent dual carriageway drag in it as well

  • It's good not sure if it's psyching me up or out for tomorrow!

  • This is interesting podcast. Thanks.
