By way of an update;
920m on the head unit
984m with a calculation using segment (returning to starting point within the hour)
21.5 ish reps on Canonbie.
If I was being self critical, I’d take maybe ~20m off the calc given I wasn't doing quite the full segment.
Hindered by a high sided van on the apex limiting sight for descending.
Car parked on turning point for 5 turns.
One very slow car descending.
I think a more consistent gradient and a straight descent would make it better.
Pretty happy though, that as a first attempt gives something to work from.
1070m for me yesterday morning. Can't work out the elevation based on segments as Strava hasn't recognised some segment attempts, I assume due to a dodgy GPS track, and I wasn't keeping count.
Half-piping, so the turns were quite easy, traffic permitting. Hindered a couple of times by pedestrian crossing right next to the beach 😛
Would much prefer an hour long slog tbh - hill reps at 6:30am are hard
The important thing, did you beat your brother?
His first attempt was 900 followed by 925, seems accurate to segment albeit he didn’t return to starting point.
I’ll let you be the judge ;-)
Smells like victory to me...
