  • Looks like a Nitto m18 rack

M18 has an adjustable “diving board” that attached to the fork crown. The rack pictured had a round tang that goes thru the fork crown and is threaded for a nut. I agree with the previous post that it’s a Compass Cycles/Rene Herse rack. UD1 I believe?

  • Ha. Yes. Sorry.

  • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh omg.

  • I should get those tyres, look spot on.

  • Most excellent, that. Would look even better with the retro font logo.
Need to look into that fork for my functional dale.

  • Why?

To me they just don't go well with the rest -
aesthetically, as the whole bike is looking quite "firm" and ready-for-action, and those tyres look more like a leisure-mode / rubber boat (they look like inner tubes, basically).
From a functional point of view, again the whole bike looks like it's ready for some serious trips, yet the botox wheels look like they would explode if a sharp-ish stick would touch a sidewall.

  • I love my Botox wheels so much. There’s no going back.

  • If Botox could make me look as fit as those wheels, where do I sign?!

  • Botox 4 lyfe.

  • As a relative newby, can someone explain to me the implicit preference for front racks over rear racks in this thread? Or is it just for A E S T H E T I C S ???

  • Access while riding, no swinging back/lifting front when out of the saddle climbing. Front wheel is planted when descending.
    Maybe aeros.
    Possibly Jan Heine.

  • To add to the excellent points raised above the handling of the bike when static is better and weight distribution across the wheels is improved.

Did we literally have the same question a couple of months ago?

    Edit; Almost.

  • F*ck this bullshite.
Maybe on a non-travel geo mtb with short rear stays this is true. But man, if you are a real world experiencer you would never say this stuff.

Why do you think you just see the Radavist bling Insta bikes with just front racks and world travelers with most weight in the back and only some small light gear low int the front?

Because there not afraid of the style police right?

3 months ago and I’m still chuckling sensibly over this.

  • It looks better.

  • Aesthetics mainly.
I do hate how rear loaded bikes feel when out the saddle personally though. (admittedly that experience is with a carradice so the weight is higher up)
