Is this meant to be a fable for the forum / some members of the forum?

Possibly- I might end up deleting it when the kettle has boiled.

Don't, I like it, I may tell it as my own story one day, but include some explosions and possibly a love interest to spice up the story line.

Plus it does make a good point.

When I was 18 I worked for my aunt over the summer holidays.
She ran a Montessori nursery in Reading.
This was a fee paying establishment- but also admitted "troubled" children with a council grant.
One of the kids who was there on this ticket was called Grant.
He had been sent for an evaluation to see if he had Tourettes- he did not, he just wanted to shout "Fuck! Fuck! Cunt!" frequently.
It was very obvious from one remove that this was pure attention seeking- even being told off was fuel for the fire of the nippers ego.
The only way that we managed to get him to cool it on the swearing was when he heard one of the teachers swearing after dropping her mug- it shocked him that adults used the words that he thought were verboten.
After that they did not seem to have the same impact to him, so he toned it down.
He very probably still says things which he considers to be "shocking", then treats the incident as if those around him are prudes/noobs/etc and then sucks the reaction into his ego whilst his ganglia make a gobbling sound*.
However- and this is the important bit- he might have grown up, learned that "reaction" is not respect, and decided to behave like an adult.
*this bit might not be true.
