  • Exactly I always make sure that I carry spare tube(s), levers, mini tool kit and co2 or pump. There isn't an excuse really.

If you are just going out for the day and want to pack light I would recommend one of these

    http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=9207

Pouch built for tools and more than enough room for wallet/keys/phone and most tools.

Would anyone recommend a tiny little hand pump that could fit in a saddle bag. If there is such a thing?

  • Actually saying that if i could sniff the tip of my cock the world would be a nicer place.

  • Id deff report me for that.

  • haha
    and hi ray

  • We are SO boring, GeneralLucifer.

Walking your bike for miles in the rain is boring. There might be physics behind it, but I call it sods law. My last two chain snappages have been in the shittiest of weather.

These were on the geared commuter though, so I just shorten the chain, add quick links, and carry on.

  • Not aimed at you Skully, more in response to Roader: "I used to carry spare tubes ect but after not getting a puncture for about 2 months I stopped"

One for the confessions thread maybe; I carry a bumbag full of tools. Usually inside my larger bag containing my shoes etc, but it's good for when I don't need to carry anything else.

  • i?

  • bend over?

  • Oh shit it's Shinscar.

We better stop being so serious.

    wank
    sod

    bum

    hah
    bartape

  • i?

lol - I knocked the keyboard when I pressed submit!

  • Id carry a spare bike with me.

  • I bet you carry two mallets.

  • Id carry a spare bike shop with me.

  • and one is timmy

  • I bet you carry two mallets.

Shut your face. how very dare you.

  • This^.

I hope that wasn't aimed at me? I carry two spare tubes, and patches/gum, levers, pump, spanner and allens everywhere. I was just saying that compact style of pack is really good, it's about time I got one, especially for those fast rides where I don;t want a barbag, pannier, backpack or whatever.

    We are SO boring, GeneralLucifer.

We're grizzled old roadsters moaning on at the young uns!

I'll keep my spare tubes and old time advice to myself in future, ungrateful whipper snappers!

  • Cheers! I'll seek one out. The pump I have is a bit bulky. I have to say I don't like the idea of CO2 canisters, the vessel seems a bit wasteful really.

Not very user friendly, but then I have a track pump at home, and a normal sized, frame mount, mini pump for longer journeys.

  • and one is timmy

    ha ha.

  • Ps

Might actually buy one of them, just need to see if it can fit in the wedge bag.

  • Sorry.

Didn't know that being an adrenalin junkie meant pushing your bike to work for two and a half fucking hours.
All I do is pack a bit of shit with me then get on with riding.
    It's not difficult.
Over the last twelve years of riding I've been caught out in the shittiest places in the shittiest conditions, sometimes 60 or 70 miles from home. I know what I'm on about
Probably reads as dull to someone who does half a mile a day.

Was that directed at me? I don't know where you got the impression that I am an adrenaline junkie. I cycle to work so I can become a not quite as big a bloke on a bike. If I was cycling 70 miles through the middle of nowhere then I would certainly take more stuff with me but 12 miles through the middle of London means that if something goes wrong I can normally get to a bike shop.

  • Might actually buy one of them, just need to see if it can fit in the wedge bag.

    id get 2.

  • and 2 bags.

  • Didn't know that being an adrenalin junkie meant pushing your bike to work for two and a half fucking hours.

Well Joe Teenslain manages it every day on both his commute to work and going home again
