You need to travel to asia, I know at least in Bangladesh (where my mummy & daddy are from) nearly all advertising is still handpainted.
I remember when I was last there, xxx was in the cinema but they had renamed the film "triple cross" to avoid confusion with porn. There was a photorealistic mural with vin diesel in it the size of a block of flats above the cinema building.
I went back the next day to take a photo but it had been painted over!
It is going to die there pretty soon too as digital banner printing is starting to get popular.
