You would need to replace the stem, and it comes without mudguards, with old shifters and awful brake levers, and no folding pedal. Just get an S3L it’ll be cheaper.
-
• #6753
No you don’t?
-
• #6754
Depends exactly what bar you go with, the mid rise is wider so takes up the cable slack nicely.
Most wont affect the fold if you want to go lower.
Yes it’s possible if I have notice / parts chosen!

• #6755
Run a flat bar on that stem?! Ridiculous.
-
• #6756
Not so, I have fitted it 3 times. Have one future project that will be old m and flat bar too.
-
• #6757
Always wanted to go a bit lower on my S6L.

P type stem with flat bar is 👌🏻

Anyone used the brompton hire things before? Do the bikes come with front bag things on them?
-
• #6760
Yes they all have them!
-
• #6761
Thanks, this might be an option rent one for going camping 4 days then use the money back to get one I want at a later date.
-
• #6762
All m type 3 speeds old style bars/shifters/brake levers etc.
You know you can “demo” one from sjs?
-
• #6763
Neighbour will ride my purple one and I'll ride the other should be fine. Don't mind a 3 speed just wouldn't buy one if I had the choice.

Anyone have need of a new standard length seatpost, still in wrapper?
-
• #6767
Are there aftermarket 2-speed chain tensioners available? Had a look at mine today, completely bunged up with mush.
In other news :Tried changing my chainring today. New chainring, new chain, new sprockets and it is jumping/slipping.. SLightly wonder if the chain is a bit long, the tensioner not quite as close to natural chainline as it used to be. I'll try shortening the chain tomorrow.

Got one. Used a bit before updating to Ti, if that's OK.
Ooops forget what I just said, I've read the opposite, that you were looking for one.

Anyone knows of an aliexpress version of the IT chair / pere child seat? The price of these things are just stupid, some exceeding the price of the Brompton main frame!!
-
• #6770
I say aliexpress, could be anything...
-
• #6771
I’m working on something...
-
• #6772
Excellent!
How old is/are your kids? (Just wondering the time frame of your project...)
You're probably sorted on that front but if not, I'm happy to help putting a CAD drawing together for your design if it can facilitate talking to whatever manufacturer you have in mind? -

Just over 2 years here, still OK I the yepp mini in front of the tandem, but that's not going to be for very long now, but Brompton would work better where we've just moved...

Cheers matey , I think wifey is actually doing as a "surprise" ( my daughter told me) . I take it the cables will need shortening, does it affect the fold in any way?
I'm in Oxford if I made an appointment would it be something you would be able to do same day if I got it to you?
