I was putting a poly tunnel up this weekend and have seen lots of people using blue piping to brace the curve shape. Where are they getting this from? I've looked online and it seems expensive. Not the kind of money someone would spend on their allotment.
Think mine came from wickes
I have had a look on ebay for used piping but not much about
Chicken wire over curtain rail hoops (to keep the pigeons off) then clear plastic sheet until February.
It’s pricey but not much alternative, make sure you buy the thicker stuff as the thin tube bends/ is useless.
Is this the Blue pipe that fits neatly into scaffold Poles?
I think that is standard issue as Water Pipe installed between the 'Mains'
and domestic supplies.
Engage scavenging mode and find where the sub-contractor to your local Water company are currently working and ask for any off-cuts/end or rolls?
That blue piping is all over the place on my allotment - nobody has bought it - probably 'found' council surplus.
Blue pipe is standard MDPE water pipe, sold in 20mm, 25mm and 32mm as standard size. I would probably go with 25mm for the strength, most builders merchants will be cheaper than B&Q etc. or if not its not too expensive in Screwfix https://www.screwfix.com/p/mdpe-pipe-blue-25mm-x-50m/19606
Success! We have an office on our allotment site and they have some there. No mention of cost yet though.
This looks great!
Those Brussels in the cage or kale?
Cavolo Nero Kale to the right - the rest is Early Sprouting Purple Broccoli.
It was so hot in here on Sunday. Repotted all the peppers and tomatoes.
btw those courgettes are early ?
Really early! Couldn't resist.
Not sure how best to cook this what I seem to have grew? Roasted? Serve on a bed of Sauted Mares Tail?
Only growing flowering Atouille bushes?
You’ll never regret it.
Yeah, planting more Bindweed next year instead.
The flies are loving the rat.
Rat has vanished. Fox I'm guessing.
I let this weed hang out here in one of the beds. It's about to thank us with some lovely Poppies I think.
It’s been quite the year for poppies
Peeling back the next patch here... Radish seeds to sew & 5 small Leeks to go in.
