Totally missed this, despite you tagging me! Need to get myself back there soon. Nearest I get these days is Newport

Was a great day, that. No cycling involved hvr.

You’d probably struggle to get a bike down to the beach anyway!

Spent last week in the Sierra Nevada mountains, the second time I’ve managed to get over there this year. This trip was less sociable as I was mostly on my todd, but it was good to clear the head and tire the legs a bit.
A couple of the days here-

The roads down there are beautiful; smooth tarmac, steady gradients on the clumbs and perfect cambers on the descents. And next to no traffic. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Having always rode with mates rather than a club I was quite surprised how much I enjoyed riding in a big group in a gran fondo last month. So today we rode from Barcelona to montserrat and up to the monestry and back, great ride and thousands of cyclists on the road. Last event if the year for the catalan cycling organisation and they close the road off for the 9k climb to the monestry.

Arse pizza at the local gravel event. Was 4th up the road and sitting up and slightly relaxing after a tough climb when my bottle went flying and my front wheel washed out. Next time I shall be wearing gloves, even if I don't like em. Thankfully I dropped two others on the climb, so they didn't crash due to my stupidity. Dnf because I couldn't hold the bars no more.

Autsch. Here's to new skin soon.

That is what I'm hoping for. I'm having a rest day! Hopefully back on the turbo tomorrow or the day after.

Ouch. Looks painful. Which event was it?

The final parcour on the Three Peaks Bike Race went from Montserrat to Barcelona. The run down to and around Montserrat was most excellent. The run down to Barcelona was most horrible. Terrassa is not somewhere I want to cycle through again.

Fleurieu fondo Gravale.

Ah nice, we didn't go via terrassa luckily, just followed the lobregat river valley back to bcn.
At the start of the climb it started raining and didn't stop till after we reached the top but then it was a long cold 9k back down in soaking clothes.Nice climb up and I want to go back and explore the other routes over and around montserrat in the future.

Bloody hell, how have I not seen this? Hope you had a lovely ride
-
• #11069
Yeah it was cracking thanks. Its an annual event, but I'm not a member of a club or a classic roadie, and it's open to all. If your in bcn then it was on one of the meetup groups and someone cross posted it to my work
-
• #11070
Yeah I looked into the different meetup groups shortly after I arrived here but kinda gave up on it as I found myself only riding very little - ah well.
-
• #11071
If you ever fancy a ride out then me and few mates go out occasionally from bcn into the corsorolla, no where near serious but I can drop you a message when we do.

Thanks for the offer, would love to join sometime - fair warning, I'm not fast and on a gravel bike.
