We caught the last 20 km of the race and it looked absolutely mental ... loved it great riding by every man in the race, real sweat and tears went into today ... absolutely loved watching it ..

I'm looking forward to today's stage, they are riding on the white roads around Siena today, basically dirt tracks. It could be epic.
Well batted, Andy. That was a classic stage that will be talked about for some time.

absolutely epic bit of riding there.
Think Nibali would have given them a run for their money too, had he not crashed/been pacing Basso, top draw ride from him there.

what time is todays stage expected to finish? i have to pick something up in clerkenwell so was hoping to catch the last half hour in one of the areas cycling cafe's

Cyclingnews slightly mangled a quote from Millar in their write-up of a short interview with him--spot the deliberate mistake:
"I saw the crash on a sweeping corner, but I didn’t know that it was Nibali. We had no idea of what was going on but that's racing. It's a pity for Liquigas because they've ridden well so far. That's the just way it goes sometimes."

Around 5 or 5:30 on European time, 4 or 4:30 on UK time.

Is that because there are so many Aussie pros these days that you can't keep up?
Great ride by Lloyd yesterday, he's a real talent.
I'm looking forward to today's stage, they are riding on the white roads around Siena today, basically dirt tracks. It could be epic.More that he's one of the older guys and I'd not seen him in any of the (very few) results sheets I bother to look at.
Oh, yeah, EVANS! FTMFW!

Fuck. If two Aussies in two days win this, we will never hear the end of it!!
I can arrange this. :)

great win for sorensen there. love the fact he was deep in the pain cave already when he caught stortoni. and he stayed in it for the last 9 clicks keeping a relentless pace. stortoni couldn't live with it and despite a few breaks from the chasing maglia rosa group noone really looked like catching him. brilliant display of grit. looked epic as well with the lights of the support vehicles breaking up the mist.

great ride from sorenson, shame that none of the GC guys were able to attack/make it stick, plenty more hills to come though!
-
• #167
They must have had this in the diary as a recovery stage following yesterday.
Evans occasionally looked very uncomfortable.

Commentators couldn't id half the finishers due to the fog. Good ride from Soro.
What was his victory salute about? Playing a piano and whipping his missus?

I love in the last 3 KM there was one of the mechanics just belowing "Allez Allez" out of the sun window of the team car .... loved it.

He was showing Cadel how it's done.
I wonder what's next after the mud and fog. Foam?

The conditions are that bad on the Giro, that Eurosport have no live coverage at the moment. All i'm watching is the finish line - which looks like a mardi gras on acid....
