Thought I'd see if there was any local interest in this before I put it on the main forum:
1954 Mercian Road/Path.
24” c-t Reynolds 531 double-butted road/path frame.
Round-section track fork with lamp boss.
Horizontal track dropouts.
At some point a gear hanger and cable guides have been added to the frame. It also has eyelets for front and rear mudguards.
The paint is fairly worn - you might want to get it resprayed.
27" alloy rims (rear Weinmann, front no name but same profile) on large-flange hubs (40-spoke rear & 32-spoke front).
Rear hub is double-sided & could be fitted with a freewheel if required.
Continental Ultrasport tyres.
48T Nicklin cottered chainset (accepts Williams 3 pin rings).
18T rear sprocket.
Rattrap pedals with clips & straps.
Vintage Brooks Swallow saddle (cracked leather around one rivet).
Alloy Maes bars
Alloy stem
Mafac front brake and lever
Pump.
I’ll also include a Mafac Dural Forge front brake and a Willams C34 52T crankset. This is a fantastic bike, but I’m just not using it enough. Whoever buys it will be made to promise that they won’t fit fluorescent deep-v’s or respray it pink.
I can send more pics if you want them, and I'm in Trumpington if you want to come and have a look.
