Try to type "Pedales pas francais" (pas is another word for "filetage" which means thread) but I tend to agree with you, they are not very easy to find...
Otherwise, it your cranks are not made of steel, you can get your LBS to re-thread them to the english standard, just make sure you talk to a competent mechanic, so it is well done, not at an angle, so there is no oscillation in pedaling... I have one pair of cranks french threaded that I use with an old pair of Atom pedals, they are not great, and I never find anything better. I am tempted to re-thread too, but I am still hesitating... Putney Cycle said they could do it for me (£15 or £20, I don't remember), I tend to trust them and never had bad surprises with them...

gios78 - i think i have a set, bought them and wondered why they didn't fit my campag crankset. the thread is a bit wider than those that did fit. they're in nice condition, alu colour, looking like the classic models you mention, like:

i'm not sure of the make. will look if i can find them this evening and send you some pics.

anyone out there got a nice set , seem rather hard to come by !
would prefer road / track type pedals , lyotard / atom /campag etc ......
