I am picture researching once more for a book cover I am designing and thought I would open it up to the forum again. There will be a small ish fee for the chosen image.
If you are interested then please read the rules clearly, and study the brief.
RULES.
You must have and grant license to my publishing house.
You must have and submit all model release for any likeness used.
It needs to be hi res.
You must buy me a beer.
But more importantly, it must meet the brief. I am not going to tell you what I want, it will be your interpretation of the brief (it will sort the men/women from the boys/girls).
Brief:
The title is called 'Gender, Crime and Victimisation' so the image needs to portray and represent this.
I am not looking for anything stereotypical, ie handcuffs, gender symbols etc.
I don't want pictures of people, the book is sensitive and political.
Colour themes should be bold and strong, but obviously this can be achieved with black and white.
The composition should be mindful of the fact that it needs the above title and an author name on.
Tough one this time guys.
Feel free to PM for more info.
I have used an image from a forumonger before and chucked him some poundage just after Christmas, so I can give you a reference that you will get paid.
I work for a small ish academic publishing house, and they never pay well, but I should be able to get you £100 - £150. We won't want sole ownership so you can use the image again.
Or if anyone feels they can illustrate something representational, this could also work.
I'd look on Amazon to get some ideas of similar books in this field to give you an idea.
Think that's all.
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot
> Quote text by starting lines with >
Mention another user by @username
For syntax highlighting, surround the code block with three backticks:
```
Your code goes here
Just like Github, a blank line must precede a code block.
If you upload more than 5 files we will display all attachments as thumbnails.
