Mistakenly left my bike unlocked for 20 minutes in Covent Garden this afternoon. Didn't get stolen.

what is the bike?
-
• #5256
A bright green Arkose with wide carbon riser bars, Thomson bits, and Ultegra. I was faffing around with my gloves, standing next to the bike at locking loop things, and I guess this distracted me from the job of actually locking the bike up.

Think it's a Hiplock, don't know if it's any good.

Litelok and yes. Sold secure silver for that one IIRC but much lighter than equivalent d-lock.
-

Nope. Have had to cut a couple at work and a basic, battery angle grinder goes through them like butter.

They’re shit but have good secure ratings which is what people need for insurance purposes I guess.
There are new d locks from hiplock and lite lock which are angle grinder resistant which might be worth a look

That makes sense, not that your insurance is likely to pay out if you've not actually locked the bike. Yeah I've seen that super pricey one from Hiplok. Hopefully it's a lot better than the other stuff of theirs I've seen at £250!

Not something I'd buy...

^ Video might be blocked by Litelok. You'll notice in Litelok's own torsion test they aren't testing the lock mechanism.

Self reporting: me, who got to the gym and realised I forgot my lock - but had a padlock so padlocked my mudguard stay to someone else's left behind d-lock.

Could have at least pulled it through the spokes 5/10
With a bike this ugly, you don't need to lock it properly
