• It was a gift. Jens would've smoked him if he tried.

+1 There is obviously something fishy going on. If the are equally talented riders just the addition of clip less pedals alone should win the race.

If you look closely, Jens is wearing a pair of 3 layer carbon soled shoes, as opposed to the modern 5 layer ones. Poor bastard never had a chance.

Seriously though. There is no way someone can accelerate 29 Kgs of bike faster than someone can accerlerate 7Kgs. Without them being a far stronger cyclist (relative to their own weight).

Had this been on a straight, after both riders had already achieved racing speed, then it wold have been more believable.

• 200m standing start, it's all in the start. Voight's is shambolic.

How many standing starts do tour riders practice anyway?

• Even when Jens loses he is full of win. His failure is unpossible.

100% Staged.

Not the best of starts but after 5 seconds Jens has his front wheel level with the red guys rear. From here he should have blown him away.

Just doesnt smell right too me.

After they pass the camera. Jens is watching the other guy like a hawk. You would'nt bother if you're intentions were to sprint all out for a hundred meters.

• Oh, I didn't see this thread before I posted here:

http://www.lfgss.com/post1206869.html

I just thought it might be the first interesting video that I hadn't seen posted yet and therefore decided to put it up twice! Not to mention it was definitely relevant to the Drag Sprints thread!

• Ha! The Swiss dude looks like he's going to puke on his handlebars. I still love Jens.

"Life is great!" Legend.

• "Shut up legs!"

YouTube- Shut up Legs

• Ha!

• Lots of Jens facts (on the same lines of Chuck Norris):

Including:
"Jens Voigt can start a fire by rubbing two mud puddles together. "

I love Jens.

• The woman by the way is Michelle Hunziker, a Swiss Italian model/tv presenter who was once married to Eros Ramazotti (him of the music which is played by law in every Italian restaurant in the world).

Anyway, what actually amazed me, is that Karl-Theodor Freiherr von und zu Guttenberg, the German Defence minister is on the show. When did you last see a British minister appear on a prime time saturday night entertainment programme. It's not the first time i've seen this either, Ursula von der Leyen has appeared on Wetten Das too. I can't help thinking if British politicians appeared on such shows, and gave the electorate more of a pesonal touch, there might not be such apathy towards politics.

• What the hell are those boots the woman the right is wearing?

Socks

• Yeah. I'd like politicians to play celebrity too.

• Socks

Coventry FC football socks?

Yeah. I'd like politicians to play celebrity too.

+1 Tommy.

Putting MPs on that kind of television show turns them into celebrities and politics into even more of a simple popularity contest.. Don't dumb down politics, educate the masses.

• What the hell are those boots the woman the right is wearing?

They are the same sort of thing that Jimmy Cricket used to wear. Fold over wellies. Without the L & R on them and in a different colour obnov.

• Is Jens Voight a world famous cycler?

• Or they'd be torn apart by the Mail. I think I know which.

• Voight didn't break a sweat, the other guy was fucked.

I'm with Hippy on this.

• jens voights shadow once passed over me ( london prologue), it was like meeting god !, i dont believe in god but i do believe in jens voight

This is strange, as a pro cyclist called Jens Voight doesn't actually exist. A pro cyclist called Jens Voigt does, though. ;)

.

These are good :)

If Jens Voigt was a country, his principle exports would be Pain, Suffering, and Agony. If Jens Voigt was a planet, he'd be the World of Hurt.

Jens Voigt doesn't know where you live, but he knows exactly where you will die.

Jens Voigt doesn't have a shadow because he dropped it repeatedly until it retired, climbing into the CSC team car and claiming a stomach ailment.

• Or another berliner who looks like him?
