  • @ sp - go on, just put my first person on ignore, can't see the avartar or anyfing! you too can get rid of grammar nazis

  • I'll play my free will card and pop you on ignore.

There's a lesson in it for you. In adult life you can't agree with everyone around and you will never be liked by everybody, even if you think, that you are a nice and decent person. People are different and have different opinions. Ignoring them might work, but sometimes surprisingly you can learn from them new things and they can learn from you.

  • and you were the one bitchin about people calling you names - surely that's freedom of speech

:^] emoticon to indicate gentle pisstaking

it is a case of form over substance

    I agree.

    by whose parameters?

  • I had to take three people off ignore just to make sense of this thread. It really wasn't worth it.

  • by whose parameters?

By standards of debate....i wanted to talk issues other wanted to talk persoanlities. You might disagree with me and me with you.....but when it boils down to 'your fat'...etc then it is not worth it.

Some on here feels Mr McQueen is a person of merit and i don't.....so i am disrespectful?....Just hold a contrary view and no thread least of all this one is sacrosanct and it is not. He was in the public eye and is going to be analysed, assessed and judged.

  • Adapted superprecise's advice and put him and his mates on ignore...wonderful!

    ttfn

  • In 1992, Alexander McQueen sent models down the runway in his shockingly low-slung "Bumsters."

Buy the mid ninety they had infiltrated popular culture.

How are most jeans worn now ??

  • How are most jeans worn now ??

With difficulty, from what I see around me.

  • In 1946, Zacharenko and Shapiro in Soviet Union installed first mobile phone in the car. But who knows that?

  • In 1946, Zacharenko and Shapiro in Soviet Union installed first mobile phone in the car. But who knows that?

Another victory for socialism! [ok, *a *victory for socialism]

Who knows that?....I do now and you have brought some joy and happiness into my day.....hurrah [no irony or sarcasm]

On chromosomes....but seriously...are they just put on and worn with belt being optional....or am i being naive and simplistic about this?

  • There's no doubt McQueen had talent either. There's no doubt he was reppin London quite well too. There's no doubt he will be missed.
But at the same time, I can't blame those who don't care.

As for the respect - you have to earn it. Even if you earn it, there will be those who will deny you this privilege. Life goes on.

  • yes art is important but what is art and I am not convinced by your argument that McQueen he 'enriched lives.....
.....Now did you notice, I diagreed with you without making any personal comments about you or using expletives.

Sorry, I'll have to make personal remarks here, you talk shit buddy.
Have you stoped and read your own posts!?

Who are we to decide .....

    Just this. ^^

    That is freedom of speech....

Once again, you're free to express yourself, but you're still talking shit.

...and did someone really just say 'what is art?'

    ...Not even going there.

    ...Life goes on.

It does. AM has left a huge contribution to his generation and the ones to follow, should be remembered as the creative genius, and that's it.

  • (this thread makes me sick...)

I'm ashamed this has got so big.

If anyone is talking rubbish it is you! He is [sorry, was ] a clothes designer and nothing more. Don't make him into some he is not; he is no Rembrandt! If he was creative then as asociety we are batting at No 9. Perhaps you should read what you said again to and reflect on the *trivial *nature of his type of work and if you don't like what i say..then mark my card on the ignore card!

  • marxist, you have as much right to your view as anyone else, but you've been saying the same thing in different words for the last three pages or so of this thread. Your point has been duly noted. Since your position isn't going to change, and those who find your position difficult to understand isn't going to change, why do you continue to debate it/discuss it?
Let it go and as you said previously go and ride your bike.
    hate the hate...

    that is all..

Yes lets the hate the hate....but i am an argumentative sod and if someone comes at me at a personal leveli return it with profit.....don't say my arguemt is shit...argue the issues...but Cornelius you make a good point...i am banging my head against a wall...so i am out....last point...Ian Carmichael has died....fine actor...always seemed a lovely bloke almost 90

  • Right, time to test this ignore function, what a load of disrespectful drivel...

  • There's also loads of disrespectful drivel in other threads like for example vilifying random car owners, calling them cunts and encouraging criminal damage/killing them for fun, because they dare to drive (and I'm not talking about those, who drive like idiots).
Bit silly, insensitive and unnecessary, no? Get your priorities right.

For someone defending so much freedom of speech, you sound really narrow-minded.
I don't use the ignore function, I rather have to read (retarded) comments like yours.
The last time I've checked, you have your opinion, which is fine, what is not fine (IMO), is you starting this stupid 3 page lecture in how much of a waste of time is to dedicate a thread to the guy... just because he is a fashion designer. And for you that's no reason one should be remembered/praised for... amirite?
I can only think of a big: "WAC", to you.

    And that's my opinion.

  • I don't use the ignore function

Personally I don't see any reason why this thread should stay on topic. It's an internet forum, not a conversation during the wake.

Of course you are intitled you your opinion but you perhaps do not grasp the free speech concept....it is about saying things that others disagree with and being allowed to say it without personal abuse.....if i commented on his colour, beliefs or sexuality that would be different and yes you are right, i do not value his contribution to society but if you do fine....agree to differ by all means and if you feel the mawkish need to dedicate a thread to his memory thats your concern.....just don't expect others to follow suit.....as regard retarded....perhaps you should look in the mirror now and you would see yourself for what you are petty!
