edit - you can load your own media.
The tricky thing (as far as I've worked out) is that you need an RSS feed. Which is easy to find for some podcasts and incredibly difficult for others.
Tbh I was being a bit facetious, but your use case did remind me a bit of the no-screen-time usp/parental use case of the yoto.
We got one for my eldest for xmas and I think it is a really nicely thought out product.

Has anyone found a good solution for getting newsletters or rss feeds onto a kindle? I subscribe to a couple of longer-form things which would be nicer to read on a kindle (construction physics and Bits About Money).
They’re both on medium so I can receive via email or via an RSS feed. Currently I use feedly to read them, ideally a solution would be phone based and email to kindle.

Kobos are better than Kindles, just cos you can borrow library eBooks and read them on 'em

Had a kobo but found the inconvenience (vs my phone) wasn’t worth the lessened eye strain. I read pretty much all my books, which are pretty much all borrowed from the library, on the iPhone.

I use a calibre add-on to send library ebooks to my kindle.

@Velocio
That looks awesome - and I would probably buy one, if I could load my podcasts on that.
Proprietary media can get in the bin!
