• had a taxi driver last night preform 2 dangerous passes on me down a quiet road, verbal aggression/ threats when i tried to let him know at the lights, only caught his taxi number and no video.

reported with the Manchester taxi office, they've logged it against the drivers record and suggested I go to the police all in less than 24 hours, Genuinely surprised as I've done this in other council districts and heard nothing back

    +1 for manc

  • Submitted a Roadsafe yesterday for a driver using a mobile phone and had an interesting call from the police just now.

Apparently even though the video clearly shows the driver holding the phone and speaking they will not be pursuing it.

In a court case a week ago the judge ruled that it is only an offence of the phone is being used for two way interactive communication, so taking a video or looking at pictures is fine. It sounded like future offences may only be able to be picked up by a police officer and not via public submitted footage (I assume because the defendant could just argue that they were not actually on a phone call).

A quick google found this court case:

The officer did highlight another offence in the video that I might like to resubmit it for though so it doesn’t seem to be a lack of will on their side.

  • Someone using a phone for any purpose is - probably - still committing an offence of driving without due care and attention.

  • Thats actually mental. New legislation would be needed. Otherwise you could legally just watch TV whilst driving a car. FFS.

  • Was almost hit by someone towing a caravan this morning on Chelsea Embankment (video

). Any point in reporting? The van was on German plates.

  • Jesus! It's so close to the vehicles on the other side of the road as well. That's an accident waiting to happen.
No idea about reporting foreign plated vehicles though.

  • Report it anyway, and ride further out in general.

  • In a court case a week ago the judge ruled that it is only an offence of the phone is being used for two way interactive communication,

    Jesus fucking wept

  • Can't text but can post to blog?

  • i was using it as a sat nav guv

  • I saw a guy planning a route on Google maps with the phone on his lap whilst behind the wheel, but apparently that is fine.

  • Dear Mr Tenners,

Incident on 05/08/2019 at 19:41 hours – Location: Outer Circle NW1

I am writing concerning your allegation to police relating to the
manner in which a motor vehicle bearing the registration mark LT68YUU
was driven on the above date, time and location.

I would advise you that the Metropolitan Police Service will
investigate all allegations where there is a realistic prospect of
achieving a successful prosecution at court.

After reviewing the evidence provided, it has been determined that the
best course of action in this case is to warn the owner/keeper of
their conduct regarding their manor of driving in a public place.

A record of the incident will be kept within this office.

    Yours faithfully,

    PC Traffic Officer

Seems reasonable to be honest, image I sent is attached.

  • Got hit-and-runned last night. Reported to popo. Can I post the footage here or does that compromise anything?

  • When you get a reply from your report, they'll tell you to remove the footage from any social media, etc. Wait until the case is closed and then you can share.

  • Post now so we can all agree WAC and then delete when the cops get involved

  • I’ll leave it for now then.
    TLDR version is:
    Going straight over at crossroads
    Light is green
In left lane to go straight
Car in right lane turns left across my lane and stops diagonally
I go into side of car at 20mph
Smash wing mirror to pieces in the impact
Some deep glass cuts in arm and hand
Driver turns and boots it off down road.

Didn’t have a camera on myself but a guy driving the opposite direction caught it on dash cam

  • A record of the incident will be kept within this office.

So basically gone in the bin?

Also, they've crossed a solid white line, so why no fine or points?!

Cycle lanes. These are shown by road markings and signs. You MUST NOT drive or park in a cycle lane marked by a solid white line during its times of operation. Do not drive or park in a cycle lane marked by a broken white line unless it is unavoidable. You MUST NOT park in any cycle lane whilst waiting restrictions apply.

  • This sucks. Hope you're all good.

  • Ugh, sounds extremely shit but v lucky that someone else caught it on cam. Heal up fast.

  • Fuck man hope there’s no lasting damage

  • Hope you’re ok?

  • Looked gnarly but yeah mostly just cuts and bruises.
Couple of my ribs hurt a bit but I’m in pretty good shape considering
