Can't actually believe I'm posting this. First experience of one of these in the flesh today. Tbh I think it's a mile ahead of anything else in it's class. Compared to say a Mongoose Maurice, which is about the same money or even a Charge Plug for an extra £150, the quality is excellent. Also looks pretty class. Still plenty I don't like about the Foffa brand but they've got this bike right.

And if you buy from Wiggle, it will get its pre-delivery inspection done by a proper mechanic :-)
-
• #2306
That actually seems pretty decent.
Have they always been that cheap?
-
• #2307
No.

I went back to the start of the thread and found this

Charge Plug is only £50 more...

Yeah, looks like they've changed the prices but quality wise, the Foffa One is worth £50 more than the Charge Plug all day long.

Super Record UltraTorque?
Ah, interesting. I didn't know that about SR Campag bb.
It was still grinding like a rusty replacement hip though.

The Plug is the same frame as the old, except the Prestige model have double butted tubing.

I see Foffa have been supplying frames for Morgan to sell to the ignorant at eye-watering prices.
This is my favourite bit:
The special edition revolves around cromoly 4130 double butted steel frame manufactured by Foffa of London, which makes it sturdy on the roads and at the same time light as steel can get.
My bolds. This shit-heap weighs 15kg.

Great value at only £1,200 though

Can't wait for Danni to justify this one...

justify this one...
Easy.
OTP fixie skidder: £400
Brooks: +£60
Sturmey Duomatic: +£50
Selling it to the kind of [money>sense] wankers who buy Morgans: £Priceless -
• #2317
To be fair, I don't think you can pin this one on Dannii, he's only supplying frames
-
• #2318
I thought he'd be saying that the 15kg bicycle feel light.
-
• #2319
21 people did buy it thought.

kids mum got me urban cyclist mag before, there's a foffa in it, its 900 quid n shit

My dad drives an old Morgan, it's pretty rad considering how daft/impractical it is. The brakless steel fixeh-skidder of the car world.
He wouldn't be seen dead on that shitheap at least.... -

Astonishing. "Each bicycle offers a unique sense of excitement for an affordable £997 + VAT "

haha... that's one straight out of Lance's copybook, the Robin Hood of Hoxton stealing from the hipsters to give to the... oh, no to 'raise awareness' and 'promote global well being'.
'Foffa-saving the planet one shit fixie at a time'
Can't wait to see his school for ants.

So disappointed to see Morgan pushing that shit out. To be honest though, it's the shit spec that kills it for me. The Foffa frames I've seen recently have been much better quality than the competition. Should have just stuck a Morgan badge on one of these. Maybe with a Brooks n some drops for a bit more "retro" look.
"Foffa of London" did make me laugh though! Such a shit name

Cooper used to try and sell branded Create bike, luckily they listened and realised it's a bad move and actually have decent bicycle now.
Shame Morgan didn't do anything.

Not from my experience with Enigma .. Knowing the love for Campagnolo at Enigma I'd guess Tester's hypothesise about what was fitted is probably true
