it could be brake pads.

• #3
but then technically your fulcrum might not be positioned correctly.

I found that brake lever to be crap, so it might be that.

i checked the brake pads they are in good nick, also the brake was working fine when i was using my road brake lever on friday...

can anyone recomend a better short lever i could use instead? i honestly didnt think the type of leevtr would make any difference....
But that said it does slow the bike enough to stop but i have a feeling it might be useless in the wet...

do you mean a short lever or a lever for one finger? the gold finger is designed for one finger use.
dirt harry should be fine as it is bent out. whatwas your previous lever?

I've pair of these on my Brompton, they're a bit spongy, but I figured that's cos I used the cheapo cables I had to hand at the time... If I'm right, could it be your cables? If I'm wrong, bugger.

You could get a crosstop lever (for cyclocross bikes).
I had a Salsa one on my old bike with a Shimano 105 caliper and the braking power was awesome.

Gold fingers are crap . I prefer Snafu C-levers , i went over the bars on my polo bike after i fitted one .http://www.fatbmx.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=9551

As my old mate Archimedes said: Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.
Short levers are a compromise. I run an E-lever and it doesn't stop for toffee. Looks great though and that is all that matters.

I'm a fully fledged ho.
I am not on the game any more myself, my time of tossing off drunk and aggressive businessmen in the shitter at Euston station for a fiver a ball is over, Christmas used to be my busiest call, I'd be cracking out 40 to 50 cock 'n' ball combos a day back then, go sub 40 and I'd expect a sound beating from my pimp.
Security would throw me out of the toilets at around 3.00am, with my Santa costume literally covered from hat to boot in man spunk, happy times.

Fuck. Getting paid for that shit would be the icing on the cake for me. It would be like a proper job and go some way to appeasing my mother's concerns for my 'immoral' behaviour. Bitch.

You need to very carefully cut the seatube open and peel the sections away. If you are really careful you'll hardly mark your seatpost.

Hi Guys,
I recently chanmged my bars to nitto track bars and fitted a diacompe gold finger bmx lever for friont brake last night...
took the bike out and found that despite beiong cables correctly and having a decent contact to brake surface the brake doesnt seems to slow very much, it does slow a little but doesnt feel liek i am getting enought power through the lever.
The lever is very short and its hard to use more than 2 fingers to pull the lever is this the reason why im getting weak braking?
