eurostar seems to be around 110quid if we were going in feb (won't let us book yet for later) could be the way to go i reckon though i do love the bike bus the train is fun too...
im pretty keen on this though im not sure when my various hand in dates are. \do need to sort my geared beast out first
hmmm..doug seemed to think july would be best for him, when he gets back from chillaxin in tenerife
i can only do school holidays.
School holidays is good. My son is off to Japan for 3 weeks, late july/early august so round then would be excellent. Early July is the Marmotte so that's out. It'll be fucking hot, so we'd best take swimming cossies
oh ronnie....YES that is SO SO SO beautiful............just what i need to look forward to...let's go for a week so we can ride and swim and hang out and drink and have fun...
Aye - at least a week.
yes maybe two....
Disrail...you still coming?
Piece of piss IMO......
thought i would hit you up with a photo assault from a road trip to the alps this summer just gone:
Ben by the astana bus at a petrol stop - didnt like our jokes about EPO stuffed in the luggage spaces.
drawing a cock on the police van that busted us for a 90 euro fine.
sleeping spot on our last night. nice.
my overwhelming memory of the alps: diesel fumes - im going to the pyrenees this summer!
(don't get me wrong it was worth going to climb all the iconic mountains, but i wont go again, too many people, i have found the pyrenees to be much quieter and better riding IMHO.)
and that one!
What was the €90 for ? And is that last pic Galibier ?
and my mate ben driving about 500m sans seat belt. really petty tourist tax, we were doing about 5MPH!
yes my mountains are the most beautiful i reckon....but it shall be nice to climb the alps...
nice photos by the way
i would like to go there....
Several of the Tour de France's more memorable moments have occurred on the Col d'Izoard, particularly the exploits of Fausto Coppi, Bernard Thevenet and Louison Bobet. A small cycling museum is at the summit, along with a memorial to Coppi and Bobet.
let's start ticking the fuckers off...
I drove down to Huez back in August for some epic rides.......only pity was I had my family with me so had to keep the ride time shortish. Did all I could though......they were all much 'easier' than I thought they'd be! Here the blog http://kipperonabikealptastic.blogspot.com/. Hire bike was about £120 for a full week. A triple. No I didnt use the granny gear.
Can't wait to get back and also go explore the Pyrennes.
