  • Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a small chrome track frame(set), so something like a Bianchi Pista. Would consider a complete bike also depending on what's out there.

    Thanks for stopping by.

  • Hot or Not:

if you wanted a vintage model might I reccomend this?:

Edit Number 2: like many classic Italians- its crhome under paint- giving a red chromed finish.

Edit number 3: If i had the money I'd totally buy this and Hilary Stones matching Red Somec Road Bike.

I also think its slightly overpriced.

Bianchis aren't actually Chrome. Chroming is a three layer process. Pistas only have one layer. poor mans chrome. Its got a real name. A number. I forget it though. Its not a big issue, it just means the chrome doesn't last half as long.

Its not chrome. Its silver metallic paint.

I'm exploring other options as the chrome one is proving difficult, esp for my size. Would prefer chrome, even poor mans at a push.

Am happy to take advice on good chrome track frames.

  • It will prove difficult to get a quality track frame in a real chrome finish with such a budget. Just saw a chrome carlton go for silly money! Good luck with the hunting!

  • Have a bit more than I mentioned but I know still not enough to
get a quality frame, which is why I'm open to suggestions as well
    as looking at others.
    Thanks both.

  • Rychtaski will be supplying a batch of hand made Chrome frames to BLB at the beginning of January. Ladies track, Traditional Track, 700c Lo-pro. All Chrome. Proper Chrome. Price to be confirmed, but around £500, maybe more. Columbus Cromor or Dedacci Tubing. Lugged.

  • Cheers H. Proper porn. I 'almost' wish I wasn't saving to emigrate so I could afford it. I have about £300 budget sadly. Will swing by to dribble at them in Jan then.

Am also looking at silver frames and thinking about Volume cutter V1 if there are any around in my size.

  • ^thats nice.
He's a talented builder. we have one in the shop now. Full customs will be available soon. He has one set of Columbus Air tubing too. I'm thinking it might be mine in the new year. Full custom. Noice.

  • P.S. The lo-pro has Columbus big bendy tubing too. The teasers we have at work are nice. Flur-d'lise lugs....

  • I'm coming in for a perv tomorrow then.

Now, anyone got a chrome or silver track frame 50-53cm?

  • Now, how does one go about collecting a bike from the states when they won't deliver outside their country?

  • Find a friendly yankee friend. send it to their house. paypal them monies/booze/sexual favours to send it onto your good self. whoila, sexy track frame...

  • Careful of import duty, Wicksie

  • Had two friendly yankee friends, one's awol and one's now over here. Fail.

Was going to look in to import duty. Muchos then? Cheaper to book a flight and bring back myself, or would I still get taxed?
    B'stads.

  • .

  • Found you a Giro frame set silver in colour and size around 50/51cm fully NJS stamped up very nice. One of my staff is thinking to sell it.

  • I knew you were the man. PM coming.

  • Still looking, my £350 budget not enough for NJS.
I may have to stick with the Bianchi Pista route god damnit. Anyone got a small one for sale?

  • wait 2 weeks, beginning of year and check ebay. mark my words. after x-mas never fails.

Ah the old January sales of unwanted gifts. Good point, thanks.

    PMed

    Thanks but too big!

Think I've decided on a silver Bob Jackson (for anyone who cares). Spending more money on a frame and less money on components as opposed to previous plan.
Clearly this is the wrong way round.

Bianchi Pista + nice components or Vigorelli + cheaper parts?

I'm emigrating to Melbourne next year and I quite like the idea of rocking up with an English bike.

Or will I regret the cheaper components?
