  • You were in my thoughts a lot this weekend Paul for various reasons. I remember riding through the snow to see you this time last year.
    miss you, you old scrote.

    Well said Clefty.

Memories of a unique character, and the forum at its very best.

Keep smiling down on us Paul, we need it.

  • yeah rip fiddy.

  • Cycling through the snow, mad slush, bad drivers, darkening sky driving flakes in the eyes...
Atrium, friends, coffee, stamping to restore foot blood flow. The Moser, the Zimmer, the poster, the presents, the subdued groups standing around waiting and then Object saying he can't come down, he's too ill to move, the exudus, Object obviously holding a lot in, leading the way carrying the Moser, the ward, bedside, pops of shampange corks, laughter, Object bracing the Moser on the beds edge like a trophy, shield and fetish all in one. Fiddy smiling graciously, obviously drugged to the eyeballs, elegantly hosting this huge impromptu ward party, many of us tears streaming down our faces, quick swipe of the hand wipe away the leakage and turn and engage again, laugh and smile and joke. A glorious celebration.
I've oft times attended the better sort of funerals and thought (insert name here) would have enjoyed this, it's a pity we couldn't have done it before their demise, only with interaction of Fiddy's spirit and the Forum have I ever seen this happen, an enormous privilege to have been witness to someone leaving this World with such dignity and grace whilst absolutely uncompromisingly remaining themselves...

There's a really good cock story, is it Clefty's?
Not Clefty's cock obviously, or was it Socks, hmmmm...

  • Was playing Elkie over the weekend.

    Bless you Fiddy.
    Never forgotten.

I was just thinking the same thing, memories of the epic 'blizzard ride' with hamsandwich down to C+W and presenting you with the Moser / Zimmerframe combo! Very special moment. x

  • ^Is that Wiganwill's pic?

Who's going to get out the cock story?

  • Am not looking forwards to NYE, that was a difficult day last year.

I frequently cycle past the hospital and always feel a little choked up, though I imagine the old scrote is probably fairly happy. He died content, and very aware that there was huge amount of love for him.

Bernie and I have been thinking of meeting up at West Drinks next week and then heading to the Sloaney Pony, probably for us to letch at the local females, outstay our welcome and be booted out at closing time.

  • James, I'm not afraid to say that I miss you. I'm back in London now so we should meet up for a drink and french toast*

    *not a euph

  • You are welcome to crash at mine after the pony.

  • Nice to see this pop up.

Have been thinking all week just want a starck change it is now compared to the anguish and exhaustion that this time last year offered.

Oftentimes find myself with a story for Paul, but not him to offer it too. Still haven't really allowed it to sink in. For me it feels like he's still around, and should I give him a call I could pop down the Pony for a few with him.

Make mine a Harvey's and Drum.

  • I could not delete his number from my phone.

  • in the new year, we have his anniversary, so the sloany should be on the cards anyways

    still got his number too

  • I've still got his bloody landline as well as his moby, might ring it in a bit and see what happens... ;]

Would be good to meet up and raise a glass...

  • thursday the 6th at the pony?
his funeral was the 29th january.

  • He died 31/12/09

Hence if we can meet next Thursday at wests and proceed to the pony, we can loiter outside and drink a toast to him after midnight.

    Ditto.

Had some old pics pop up on FB t'other day that made me chuckle a fair amount.

Will definitely be raising a glass of whatever you're having over the xmas period.

  • I just remember him saying "its amazing" over and over again that evening.

am not gonna be about until the 5th :(

  • his funeral was the 29th january...so, either wests at the pony on the thurs or a visit on the sat?

I was thinking a "quckie" at Wests, then roll down to the Sloaney and as DJ says, act disgracefully, and get thrown out, to wander the streets of shame.

    "What say you?"

  • i just put this in my new portfolio.

i hope paul got to see the print i made for him but i never really found out if he did. did anyone take it after he passed?

  • I shall be raising a glass for the old boy on NYE.. Can't get to London any time soon unfortunately so won't able to make any proper forum drinks for Paul.

  • I rather think that all forum drinks are in honour of Paul!
