  • no, you're right D i had not really thought about it and just followed the conv, i'm sure others were the same. :)

  • Don't encourage these clowns, David.

Sorry I didn't make to what sounded like a fitting tribute to Paul.
Work commitments kept me at work until after midnight on Friday.
It seems like Paul would have proud, pleased and humbled (as I am) by the love shown.

Well done to the guys and girls behind everything.

  • I've not had a chance to post on here properly for a bit, but wanted to add my thanks to echo other people's. A really good service that had me chuckling and holding back a tear at the same time. And then the pleasure of delving through Paul's record collection and playing the slightly less 1970s Italian Mood Music albums at the wake.

All in all, what with crashing hearses, the beautiful sun coming out after the serive, which made me forget about the hail, wind and rain before, creative uses for drinking straws, and some of the worst played pool I've ever seen.

Every time I popped out into the artic conditions to smoke a fag, I was convinced I'd bump into Fiddy.

  • I am with B, funny got the better of me.

On a related note: Paul was a fantastic artist, his pencil studies showed a well trained eye and the subtlest of touch. He could give the idea of movement with just a single well placed line. Paul had Talent.. and appreciated Talent

Loics picture of Paul on the coffin captured him perfectly and deserves huge amounts of praise. The poise, the look, the hair.. it was the essence of the man

Loic drew several pieces for Paul, two notable drawings given to him on his surprise birthday party and for a get well were stunning!

Fiddy loved those pictures and proudly showed them off to all who came around, those lovely gestures didn’t go un-noticed.

  • how remiss of me to not add my comments in appreciation of a wonderful man and a send off that i hope did him proud.

massive thanks to all those that organised and contributed - and that really is everyone on here. so many lovely touches on the day. but a big heartfelt thanks to those that really had to dig deep to get things done and sum up the forum fondness and respect for the man.

i would like to think Paul would have loved the ridiculously silly banter we had going on at the G table, built on seven drunkards.

paul, you are truly missed dude.

  • and some of the worst played pool I've ever seen.

..christ I just remembered, I managed to chip both the black and white ball off the table and smash a pint glass with the black! ..get it up ye virgo

Same as on the spoke card? Yes a very lovely illustration, got him perfect.

  • Sorting out my film last night i came across this negative.
This was taken about 3 weeks before he went into hospital, last one i took of him in our back garden.. smoking a fag :)
It's too good not to share

  • that's a lovely pic.

  • Great pic Pip, roll up and bib tights on show.

  • The old dog... Lovely pic, Pip...

  • great pic, exactly how i'll always remember him

  • this thread is inspirational. Even with our usual banter and photoshopping, think Paul would have laughed too at the ginger family.

  • Pip - nice photo, I'm sure that's how lots of people remember him

  • i could not figure out the paypal thing but i have made a £10 donation to cancer research uk.

  • No-one ever said, but as beer vouchers were given out I assume we did raise enough to send him off in style without anyone being left out of pocket?

  • Indeed thanks to everyones generosity the funeral and a few drinks at the wake were covered

  • didnt know the guy personally but its always a shame to lose someone, especially a fellow rider.

    RIP.

  • It sounds and looks (from the pics) like a fantastic send-off for a wonderful guy. Wish I could have been there but a family crisis has been keeping me vastly preoccupied. Well done everyone for making it happen. Paul would be proud.

  • just collected this
