  • Is is completely non bike related but iv been on here for a while and its the only real method of online comunication i actually use so though id give this a punt..

I have started my own accountancy firm and wanted to check whether it would be ok to share its details with the Members.. Again its obviously very boring and probably will attract an abundance of abuse but best check its not breaking any rules etc...

Also i know there are quite a few self employed folk on here so it might be a good way to get the ball rolling in terms of clients...

And as always services will be cheaper for forum members....

So could any moderators or any senior members advise if its ok to put my website link up here and beg for clients?

  • This would be a good place to start: http://www.londonfgss.com/thread17356.html

Best of luck with your new venture, hope it goes well.

  • Cheers matty im hoping it goes well too.. Not expecting it to go particularly well at first but hoping maybe a year in or so i can get a small list of clients etc...

  • Website is www.barkatali-associates.co.uk if anyone wants to give any advice on what needs changing etc i will be happy to take it on as i built it myself without any prior expertise!!

Also anyone who wants to advise on how to get it on search engines will also earn a packet of flaming hot monster munch.

  • In the old days you had to submit it to search engines, these days their spiders will crawl all over your metatags I suppose but don't websites take time to start appearing in searches?

  • I don't have enough moolah to warrant any accounting at all, but good luck with the venture Talboy.

  • Ill have to do some proper research on how it works regarding the search engines, my friend who will be doing web design for any clients we get is away so i cant get him to explian either!!

Super, dont worry give me a call ill count whatever moolah you have... its what i do best.

  • Regarding the website:

Try and have no more than 8 words a line and fully justify. Makes it easier to read
Also the drop down menu on the services tab - try and change it - it covers up the text.

  • it's not going to be at all easy to get your site to appear organically in google when people search for accountants, because it's so competitive. there are no cheats or easy ways round this, despite what disreputable SEO companies may tell you.

if you are touting for local or specialised business that may help bump you up google a bit, make sure your specifics are mentioned prominently in the content of your site.
