Wanted: Looking for a bike to suit 5' 7" guy

Hi i am looking for a bike for a friend. he is 5.7 and wants a single speed or geared bike, preferably made from steel. Pricewise: £200 would be the top mark, if something really nice comes along he'd go up to £250.

Go to Halford and pick up a Carrera Subway Zero for £200 and put them together himself/yourself if you're not entirely sure if his local Halford have inept mechanic;

decent little bike for the money IMHO.

it's not really Ed, he also crashed when the server went down and has been replaced with a good twin

Mr.c why stop there. get some Campy and hubs and dura ace cranks in the mix, that will give you a few quid left over for a classic rolls saddle

I don't think £200 is unrealistic for a 531 framed single speed. But I can also rephrase this:

I iz looking for a decent beater, for a mate. 52-55cm frame, classic looks preferred. baby blue would be kewl but will also settle for other colours as long as its got a red chain.
