  • I second that, TKMaxx has some usually, otherwise Sports Direct will have one lying around as well.

  • Cheers all, that gives me some options

  • Does anyone have any recommendations of a good BSA 68mm eccentric BB?

  • Hello, can anyone help alter some bike kit for me please? I have some favourite tights I’ve crashed in too many times which I wanted turning into shorts and a Lycra overshoe which has had a seams come undone. My local alterations person never does things strongly enough and frequently doesn’t charge which I feel embarrassed about because she is a lovely old lady.

  • This all requires special sewing machines. I am not a seamstress so don’t know much about the detail, but from my understanding neoprene and Lycra materials need stitching that can flex quite a lot.

  • Is there €15 worth of improvement between BR-T4000 and BR-T610 V brakes?

  • Is there €15 worth of improvement between BR-T4000 and BR-T610 V brakes?

Yes. The nice ones have proper brake shoes, the cheap ones have the pads moulded to the studs. You can upgrade with XT shoes, but they are more expensive than the price difference between the two brake sets.

  • Perfect, hadn't noticed that obviously, just wasn't sure if it was just a weight saving thing only.

  • Trickstuff Exzentriker is your best bet.

I've got one brand new and unused if you want it. Bought for a project that never happened.

  • @youramericanlover buy this BB for your arkose

  • Well these do at least fit

  • Looking at the Shimano BB-UN100, there are two options:

122.5mm (LL123) for cranks with 50mm chain line
122.5mm (LL123) Chain Box / for cranks with 50mm chain line

Can someone explain the difference? What's the relevance of a chain box for a bottom bracket?

  • This is probably easily answerable by the popcorn thread fans, but are there any famous flounce posts? I remember people announcing they were quitting quite a few times, but can't remember the details.

  • I think the Chain Box one has a flange on the drive side, to hold on a chain retention device (box?), or an 'E-type' derailleur like this:

  • Thank you.

Related to this: BB-UN100 comes in versions for 47.5 and 50.0mm chain line. Sheldon mentions something about oversized tubing requiring a 50.0mm chain line BB. It's an aluminum frame, how do I know if it's 'oversized'?

The chainset I want to pair it with says 47.5mm chain line in the specs. Should I just get the 47.5mm chain line BB?

It's for a TREK Aluminum 7300. Can't find a bloody thing about this bike online.

    Any help would be appreciated.
