Have you tried calling I Repair Macs http://www.irepairmacs.co.uk/? They have a shop (!) on Goswell Road. Haven't needed them myself but heard good things before.

Araldite rapid, and yes it is flexible enough.

Mark the Hampstead Mac guy is highly recommended. He used to work for Apple and has gone freelance because they encouraged throwing away machines/parts that could comfortably be salvaged. Sounds right up your street.

This is good news because I actually have some already! Cheers!

I've got an old campagnolo rear derailluer. It's really ugly almost looks plastic. How can I tell how many gears it can shift?
-
• #85632
The answer to your question is in the shifting mechanism rather than the derailleur.
But here is the incomparable Sheldon Browns spacing cribsheet.

friend of mine does macbook fixes, pretty much any type of part replacement. used him regularly at my previous startup company to replace batteries, fix fans, fix screens, new keyboards/trackpads, etc etc.
if you're north london, he can also come to you

They will fit, but there's no evidence of any actual aero benefit. They are made to fit aesthetically with Vision integrated TT bars, and as a result are wider than the thin section round spacers which somebody on this forum makes 😀
-
• #85636
You'll have the open section at the top on the pointy bit still.

Just had one of those Mac mini-trackpads die. Changed batteries, binned bluetooth profile, tried re-pairing it, nothing. Blesed expensive bit of kit to just stop working. Anyone know wtf?

No.
I had a protracted, costly, legal battle for the previous 18 months. I won but it wasn't worth the aggro.

@mdcc_tester and @PhilDAS thanks both. yeah it's not for any real aero benefit. just a gift to my brother to 'upgrade' his bike. we rented pinarellos last year and joked about the marginal gains on the aero spacers his came with (mine didn't) and how that would pretty much sew things up
@Saarf hmm i was going to congratulate you on your spot, and invite you to celebrate all things jawas, but now i'm afraid you're asking on behalf of disney, in which case, noooo.... not at all.....

The picture below shows the clamp for extensions on my TT bars.
They're Specialized Shiv bars recently purchased from @hippy.
The part shown was subject to a product recall by Specialized, as apparently the single bolt on the adjustable section (where there are angle markers) was prone to snapping. They don't seem to have managed to come up with a solution, as they offer a different kind of clamp as a replacement which isn't going to work with my setup without quite a bit of faff. And it's ugly.
My question, to people with better knowledge of engineering than me, is why was it likely to have failed, and is there a solution to it which would make it workable? E.g. a stronger bolt than the one they offered (too obvious I guess) or a replacement extension clamp which is compatible with the two-bolt system on the integrated base bars (35mm apart - I'm not sure how this compares to other manufacturers' systems but the two-bolt system is very common now).

The low-stack adapters with risers don't work for you?
Have you got a pic of their new mount? I'm curious to see what they did. -
• #85646
Not sure if any of these will fit.
Vision

Zipp

Pro and TriRig look similar

What about the middle position, does that remove the problematic angle bolt?

-
• #85647
I don't think any of those sell just the clamps separately. There's no way to mount the clamps directly onto the bars as the distance between the bolts is different, and I don't think the positioning of the pads affects it.

Any recommendations for a mouse that can be used with right or left hand. Really just needs a scroll wheel and right/left tilt on the scrollwheel or buttons. Needs to be wireless but not super accurate (I don't use it for gaming or design or whatever).

What's the best/strongest fabric glue for attaching patches to a cordura musette?
Thank you!
