Doesn't sound too promising...

Is there anything you can do/anyone you can report companies too for running competitions that involve sharing things on facebook/twitter but nobody ever actually wins?
theres a venue in manchester who run weekly competitions for its events/gigs on facebook/twitter for people who share/retweet, last week they ran one where I was the only person to share it on facebook, and only me and one other person to retweeted it on twitter
winner was never announced (they never are on facebook or twitter any week) and i messaged the other guy off twitter, and he didnt win, so it seems that theyre running these competitions purely for free advertising

Free advertising that seems to not work.

I'm not an accountant but the answer is always wine.

Why not ask them:
"What are they best options for rewarding a supplier with a gift in such a way as to maximise tax avoidance for the giver and potentially also minimize tax liability of the recipient?"
Missed a trick there... -

Social media is a double edged sword.
Call them out repeatedly for this behaviour via social media and they'll quickly rethink their bullshit strategy...

Need to replace a couple of chainrings on a triple. £20 more than the cost of just the two chainrings and I can get a new Deore triple that's hollowtech 2 with BB. (What I have now is square taper).
The £20 is worth it, right?

You'll need to get ya frame faced etc.
Worth it? £20 + trip to bike shop then throwing away / selling on a servicable crank and BB just because is a bit sub optimal but there you go.
Which rings do you need? I have some Acera 8 speed rings kicking around.
-
• #59242
Fuck, forgot about facing. I'll just grab rings then. Cheers! Saved me the headache of installing the BB w/out facing because that's what I would have done when I realized I needed to face the fucker but just wanted to get it built.
44 and 36, but I'm not precious about those. In that zone. Got anything?

I doubt the recipient would have any liabilities but if the plonk is bought by your company then it could probably be filed under hospitality or some such.

44& 36? Yeah I think so - assume four bolt and not some weird BCD?
I've definitely got 44, 48 and 38 but I suspect I have 44 and 36 I need to swap with the 48 & 38.

There are definitely tax implications for receiving gifts, they are probably hard to police and I'm not sure exactly what they are, but it's something like over £250 in any tax year and hmrc are owed a some monies by the individual receiving..

@carson
I do have a similar question that I'd like to ask already.
I would like my company to make donations to two charitable causes. I'd like to know whether this is legal and what the tax implications would be.
I shall drop them a line with both questions.
