it's more like:
"hey everyone, let's have dinner together. can everyone bring something?"
it doesn't really work so well with a simple host+guest format. -

question: best online long-range weather forecast? I'm planning something outdoor for end of September

Nobody can forecast anything a month out. The best you're going to do is a set of bell curves of parameters which will give you a range of probabilities based on historic observations. For a week ahead, the NOAA GFS Model seems pretty good if you know what you're looking at, but all of those kinds of medium range forecast can be as good as useless if they predict a change at a week out, as it could easily happen 24-36h earlier or later than forecast even if the general pattern is right.

ASM - Arro Spok Merchant. Or so people said. Anyone wanting a Spok was directed to him. Eventually causing him to flounce but is now back again under an alias.
I think the clincher was his phone number and other details being posted on the forum which the 'spok hungry masses pounced upon, calling him incessantly asking if he had any stock left. -

back to last nights discussion of cable routing for hope v-twin brakes
what about nokon cabling instead of the noodle?

Jamie boy....;
Trickstuff were one of the first companies (along with TRP and Hope) to develop an effective way to run hydraulic disc brakes from cable operated road levers. First seen in prototype form at Eurobike 2010, the Doppelmoppel mounts neatly under the stem (minimum length 90mm) via a steerer tube bracket, and is adjustable for best fit. **Trickstuff recommend using it with Bowden cables (made by Nokon) to give the straightest possible run to the side-entry cable clamps.

You know what would have been even better? That Hope would have thought of this problem through their development process and mounted the pistons transversely. Then the cables would be taking an almost direct route to the lever

Yes, the FSA one works fine.

• #33447
Great.
Also, does anyone know just how tight a Planet X track for for 20mm tyres is?
-
• #33448
do these work?

I've used one of these for testing bike position before deciding on where to cut the fork steerer. I think I got it because it was the cheapest. it works just fine.
Typically it's become even cheaper since I bought one.

Has anyone ever had any joy getting stuff from tips/recycling centres? I keep reading about it on retrobike and wanting to get in on that action myself. I know there're loads of scrap places around Bermondsey...

Never heard of it myself.
"I'd like to invite you to dinner. Bring your own dinner" sounds like a particularly unappealing invitation.
