i just realised i have bought a front halo areotrack (instead of areorage) wheel. its not one of the anondised ones and has no breaking area. halo say you shouldnt use these wheels with rim breaks. im only riding with a front break and was wondering if anyone's got any experience of using breaks on these wheels? are they going to fall apart or is it just to keep it looking pretty?
checked the search function and nothings coming up...
The brakes won't work as well as no prepared breaking surface and the painted surface will be slippery. The paint will eventually wear down and they may start to work better.
Not sure if they are made any thinner than the Aerorage rim though, if they are then could wear through and make rim weak (think that would take a while though?)
Brake pad choice could be criticall!
thanks kerley. just realised theyre about £15 more expensive as well so i might as just well stump up the money for postage and return them. not worth risking it with one brake and my history of collisions...
the collisions have done this to your face, my god
definately go for the good braking surface !
