Check out http://www.cyclingmasters.tv/ if you are interested in watching a bunch of old f@rts racing round a wooden track.

I'm riding the following (all time are Aus local time):
    Monday - Kilo TT ± 7pm
    Wednesday - Scratch Heat ± 9am
    Wednesday - Team Sprint Heats ± 1:30pm
    Wednesday - Team Sprint Fianl ± 3pm
    Wednesday - Scratch Final ± 9:30pm
    Saturday - Points Heats ±10:30am
    Saturday - Points Final ± 4pm

    I'm in the M2 (Men 35-39) Category.

  • Good luck Adam.

  • Say g'day to Shazza for me and have a good ride.

  • Best of luck Adam.

  • Good luck Adam, and cheers for the linky....

  • good luck!!

  • 6th place in the Kilo today. Was on a good schedule but died on the last lap. Posted a 1:09.219 Not my best ride but 6th at the Worlds is noting to look down on.

    Winner did 1:06.280!

Only 8 of the 45 straters went under 1:10.

Feeling pretty shattered... bed is calling. Team Sprint on Wednesday.

  • Here is the top 8 official result:
    1st: Justin Grace NZL - 1:06.280 (54.32km/h)

  • Dave Le Grys won the Gold in the Mens 50-54 age group breaking his own World Record again. 34.450sec (52.25km/h).

He did a 19.15 opening lap!

I got to hang onto him in the team sprint tomorrow!

  • bloody hell.

  • There's hope for us all :)

  • I read the feature on David Le Grys in cycling weekly earlier in the year. Did not realise he was such a demon on the track!

  • There's hope for us all :)

for all that were already good when they were younger and kept at it!

not sure about those that took up sport in later life...

  • Yvonne McGregor?

  • yeah..

ok, wait for the story about the ex alcoholic musician turned cycling coach and athlete who came good in the masters when he hit 40..

  • LOL

    So... Team Sprint today...

Man 1 - Dave Le Grys (World Record breaking, fag smoking Terminator)
Man 2 - Iver Reed (super fast Scot)
Man 3 - Adam Roberts (that me)

    Keep you posted.

  • good luck Adam!

nationals on right now, our mate Joe Wood just posted a 1:12:284 Kilo

  • Team GB won the Bronze medal in the Team Sprint. Check out the PX blog for a race report and pics:

  • Nice work - great pics too.

  • Well done Adam, great result, especially coming back from 4th in qualifying to medal.

  • Awesome work !

  • Thanks guys... legs ache today.

After the Final of the Team Sprint I had some food and rested then rode the 10km Scratch Race final in the evening. Was pretty tired as I had been awake since 3:30am and had done a fair bit already in the day.

The final was very fast. I was on the right wheel with 2 laps to go but the legs we toast... finished 8th.

So all you "sprinters" take that as a lesson... you can ride spints and endurance events on the track and perform in both. Just got to ride with your head.

2 days off then the Points Race on Saturday. Lets see if I can get into the final.
