How can a spray give you a boner?!
In other news, won a contract on Thursday at work, went out to celebrate, lost my coat + keys. 24hr lockmsiths are expensive....lessons learned.

Found somewhere we really like. Asking price is about £10k higher than material value. Very happy to meet it. Let's see if others start playing over asking price stupid games.

Time will tell. All we can do is offer what we are happy to pay. If no luck, we'll find something else.

Currently in the 'waiting to exchange' queue - all our paperwork is in and in order, enquiries are back...waiting for management information pack to come in (freehold house but on a managed estate) before we can get down to signing our lives away.

Thanks @robadob @BobbyBriggs and @Tenderloin for advice. I've spoken to an estate agent and to my solicitor who both said it's not unusual to haggle over the price on the basis of an undervaluation, or for costs thrown up by specialists reports, but it's also not uncommon for the seller to say no. I'm making my case to them this week, will report back. Fingers crossed. (Is that the most commonly used phrase in this thread?)

Don't, I've found a box of 'Gladiator' pills now.

Standard.
If you don't have one of those yet, you should look at getting one installed.
Don't want to be the last on your street with one.

House with crabs living in it.
Giant crabs.

Good tip, on phone to builder now, says it'll add 10% on to my house value. Whoop, new Porsche for me....

Make sure you get a FENSA cert for that. Wouldn't want a nosey solicitor asking daft questions when you come to sell.

Been doing the rounds on facebook lately. The best explanation was that it had been mis-specced and the hapless installer had ripped the old frame out before realising so it was put in to at least offer some level of weatherproofing until the mistake was fixed, but yeah, still comedy.

So we moved into the new place on Friday.
Looking through all of the old paperwork that came with the house we find out it had a name in its earlier life up until about 1940.
Any idea how we get the name back recognised with the house ?
For anyone interested it's Glaslyn (a blue lake in Wales)

If it's got a street number, then you'll have to keep that - the name can only be in addition to the street name and number - but the first port of call is the local highways authority. Once they've OK'd the name, then inform the Post Office. Then tell everyone else.

Yep, number 65 and we do have a large glass panel above the door to get it etched into.
Okay will follow up with local highways then post office,
It's quite cool, we have the original deed transfer for the sale of the land from 1890 written on vellum. Plus a host of other documents (old mortgages from 1920 - £1850)

You should have a sword on the panel too as it's supposed to be the lake where Arthur threw Excalibur into.

• #13596
Can you fit a unicorn on there too?

And a wolf with a full moon?
Classy...

Excellent, maybe I could get the kids to create a family crest....we could have it in stained glass for full effect !

My house as a kid had a name and no number. Never once saw a number. Name was Rowsley.

If you have a number then adding a name will just make passers-by smirk and think you're being pretentious.
Where I grew up we didn't have house numbers or road names. Just house names. That was fun working with early automated systems.

In the other side, the 22mm bullets can be inserted and used as anal stimulators.
