Yes.
With the problems you are having with your BB you could possibly look at running a very small fixed sprocket at the back and a trials crankset with integral freewheel thing (do no know correct term) instead?
Caveats- if it will fit and if you can fit a larger chainring to it than is standard for trials, and also if I am not talking out of my bottom.
