  • back today, off to tokyo thursday

  • back today, off to tokyo thursday

A lot of private jet setting... is the inventor of bike polo club building a world wide network in his sleep...

  • Black Rebel v's 3 Beards was a somewhat lacklustre affair due in no small part to a certain birthday soiree attended by both teams the night before. No amount of hopping around in the goal mouth by myself could prevent Bill's strongarm tactics and Snoops powerful and accurate shots leading to a plethora of goals in the first two games. Black Rebel failed to capitalise on the few opportunities that were presented to them. Matt however scored an absolute blinder from the narrowest of angles in the third game which put BR into an early lead. This game was a far more closely contested affair which finished 1-1, but Snoops was there once again with a good finish to hammer the final nail into Black Rebels silk-lined coffin (available on the Chunk website soon).

  • Thanks to the Refs and for the crowd support also.

  • Also, Matt is a dirty player. Literally shoving us off our bikes. Didn't expect that!

  • that's it, i'm going to make an extra small mallet head that will fit through his Ti grill.

  • La Schmooove, looks like its on for saturday morning. Downham?

  • Cool,

    Mitch 11am Sat.
I will put it in the diary!

  • Also, Matt is a dirty player. Literally shoving us off our bikes. Didn't expect that!

yeah, sorry about that. i've had my hand crushed on my bars one too many times so i lean in with my fore-arm instead. i know i need to curb it tho. i'll use my face next time eh? :D

  • Looks like I can't amke tonight to spectate at Newington as work is too early in the month hectic.
Have fun with the fixture and kill them in half Cosmic!

  • Do you mean us Dr V?

Me and Jo can't do Wednesday

Yeah, but sorry, I jumped the gun. We need to sort our game with Massive Logs before we play you fine ladies. We'll be back in touch.

  • There are already two games at Newington on Wednesday. Three if we play Zombie. Four if we play BAD.

Plus, I don't really want to. Maybe if it was two west teams. Or Malice was one of them.

I don't think the Malice v. Cogs game is going to happen this weds.

    Goal 4, MAT - 7.00
    3 keepy uppies, MAT - 7.51
    Goal 5, Tom - 9.00

Due to the wet conditions the games started off pretty slow. Yet again SLAP not really doing anything wrong. The Cosmic boys were pretty fast to the ball and managing to get control of it with pace. Hitting Slap on the break when their passing was a bit loose. Todd on his new polo steed, seems to have adjusted quite well.

SLAP definitely defending well in patches, as the times show. MA3K defended the midfield/goal mouth really well clearing and blocking when needed. Unfortunate not to get a few more goals from COSMIC.

...COSMIC played a good game. Finishing a few back of the goalies wheel slotters and some accurate BB shots and like i said intercepting a few loose passes.

SLAP for a virgin League team have had a tough time of it, but im sure these losses will come to be a benefit later on in the league.... Basically, Its all gravy.

  • Nice one Ray, thanks for reffing and reporting, and well played to SLAP - you guys haven't had the kindest fixtures to start the league but you'll be taking scalps vey soon I'm sure. Megaskillzprops to JonMa3k for getting the lights on. Some really great throw-ins this evening too.

  • When's it back on then BAD? You can't avoid it forever... chickens.

  • cheers for coming down Cosmic. i was glad to see our form is consistent, and that we can take a sound beating both away and at home. they were really enjoyable games in the wet conditions. learnt a lot from that game - the movement and timing of todd, tom and matt, coupled with their great mallet/ball handling skills truly makes them one of the most exciting teams to watch, and toughest to play against.

on the plus side really enjoyed seeing robb playing superb controlled stuff and seeing the blocking and hussle of john. i think it will come together for us and i really reckon we have a chance of getting a result in the next game. i have heard 'bye' are shit ;)

ray, cheers for reffing and keeping all the good things in the mix. hops and the other southies there along tonight - cheers for the support.

it's ard this ardcourt polo malarkey.

    keep the faith

  • Total fail on my part sorry guys sorry slap too for not supporting.

  • Exciting games for us last night, thanks Cosmic.

With a learning curve steeper than the Eiger and going up against some quite flashy teams I am pretty happy with the way we played last night.

Rob and Jonny both playing a positive game and making chances where they were to be found.
Jonny capitalizing on a break and Rob so very unlucky with a shot that bounced the wrong way off the cone.

Our moments of inattention or messiness being punished directly by adroit handling and fleet manoeuvres by the Cosmic lot.

As for how the card with the hieroglyphics and Pharaoh-heads got into my bag - Cosmic Mind-Fuck.

  • Total fail on my part sorry guys sorry slap too for not supporting.

    No film, no festival.

  • no food for thought

  • so thursday night early on? can ya huh huh?
