  • How come they have asked to film at your place? Did you advertise somewhere?

  • Haha I wish I was a partner there, i'm sure i'd be living the high life if I was!

  • How come they have asked to film at your place? Did you advertise somewhere?

I always assumed he was Ridley Scott not scot..

  • is it advertising/drama/doc/public service (BBC/C4) or commerical broadcaster? they all have different rates - for ads/commercial broadcasters, you could expect at least £1000 a day (all other factors mentioned above, leccy etc, extra). For public service/dramas/docs, probably closer to £750. you can negotiate on fee depending on how prominently your location will be featured in the finished thing too.

At the risk of pissing them off and them finding somewhere else altogether, i would suggest that you don't go with an hourly rate, as the disruption to you will be more than how long they're in for but ask for blocks of half day payments instead for an 8hr day and then an hourly overtime rate.

hope they're good to you - most film crews are pretty friendly and if you get on the right side of them, you can get some good kick-backs too

  • I was asked to make a prototype bag for the last Rambo film...they didn't use it in the end, but the props guy that visited saw the place and he's involved in this shoot...he recommended it.

Thats really cool, are you allowed to talk about it or did you sign a confidentiality agreement?

  • £3,000 a day when they use my old house for The Bill, they create an 'explosion' back in the 90's.

  • Cool, was just wondering then what the bag was for, like what was it gonna be used for, any cool unique features?

Thats not the norm though ed, they pay more if they are going to damage your property even if they put it right before they give it back to you, because not many people are happy to let their property be used in that manner.

yeah it took my parents a while to decided, they said 3 days max, provided hotel, etc. (£3,000 for 3 days actually, miscalculation).

it's all fine in the end, the best thing is that they managed to actually fixed the wonky door and the wobbly table legs when putting the house back together.

  • Are you going to do a limited run of Rambo's?

  • It was the bag he was supposed to take with him when he went to rescue the missionaries...it had a built in quiver for his arrows across the back and the main strap had the sheath for his knife running up it so he could access it from the front easily.
Also had rings on the side to secure grenades etc. All black.

That is too damn cool, the film was alright, I don't think it quite had the same spirit as the originals though.

  • i love that story

Surely this is the way forward to deterring bike thieves! Rolling around fully tooled up, no one's gonna fuck with your shit then!

Can we have some 'Archies Headbands' in Blood Red too pls! :)

thats perhaps the most bad ass thing i've ever heard.
shame it wasnt in the film.

wow great story, but useless without pics.

  • Archies Grobags

    "as requested by Rambo!"

  • A restaurant I was working in was used as a location, the film co had to pay the potential revenue for the day...."potential" revenue was pretty high...surely you would normally produce and sell about 20 bags in a couple of hours right?

  • I want to rep for that story but I need to spread some.

Got any pics of just the bag? Sounds badass.

  • I can just imagine his "in-brain" conversation checking his stuff as he gets to the gym:

    Gym shorts.....check, trainers........check, Compound Bow...check, grenades....check, deodorant....check, knife.....check.......and we're ready to work-out!

  • prop to you Scott for not labelling your bag "as used by Stallone", like most company does in order to promote their business, even if it true!

would be nice to get a feedback from him thought.

  • Didn't go for the 'My Little Pony' then? : )
