Jeff Beck collection at Christie’s is well worth a scroll (and not just because of the Squier Telecaster decorated with nudey pics).
https://www.christies.com/en/auction/jeff-beck-the-guitar-collection-30401/
Jeff Beck loaned this guitar to British director, screenwriter and comedian Peter Richardson for use as a prop on the 1990s cult mockumentary comedy series Stella Street, which was based on the fantastical premise that a group of British and American celebrities all decide to move to the same street in suburban Surrey. Playing the role of Keith Richards, impressionist John Sessions is seen holding the titillating Telecaster in a number of scenes throughout the first series as part of a recurring plotline in which the Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger and Keith Richards run the local corner shop together

Is this another of your builds? I had a trawl of the thread but couldn’t find anything about it
-

Fuck, there’s been some quality postage the last couple of pages. Not least my accidentally posting my fattie progress stats in the wrong thread. lol.
Without wanting to get too smooshy, I honestly thing there isn’t a cooler, calmer, positive and fun guitar chat corner of the inner-netz than this so I really hope we can find a way of keeping it together.

Hiya, yes it’s one of mine from just over 4 years ago - originally posted here wearing a different pickguard, various hardware bits, and of course neck.

I was so close, I found the bit on the page before about buying Mastery kit!
That really is something special. Having been lusting over Zona/Blanchflower/Trent stuff lately I think the body shape you went for might beat them all. Has the same thing the Zona Asgard has where it looks best in playing position rather than vertical.
Big fan.

Some nice tributes to Johnny Depp at the end too.

I’m still looking for the perfect p-bass in my budget. Frustratingly there’s a bass in the local facebay listings that hits every single criteria… except that it’s a Jazz.

Looking for a MIJ P-bass. 60s spec, rosewood board under a grand.

There’s a good MIJ/CIJ sales & swaps group on FB. I don’t think there are any PBs going at the moment, but you could post a WTB?

Couple on bass bros. What's the driver for it needing to be MiJ? I feel like 650-700 would be a fairer price for these but maybe I'm living in the past!

Thanks, very kind. I’ve kind of lost my mojo a little bit over the last couple of years, but I’m looking to get back in the garage once the weather improves and start hacking up bits of wood again.
I’ve got a neck to finish making for a forumenger who has waited far too long and been far too patient, and then I’m going to build my first ever complete guitar for someone that isn’t me, which is terrifying.

Love all the kind of hook bits, like a little dash of the Maybury fishhook thing into the recipe

How important is a decent pedal power supply? I've had a cheap 10 way Chinese made power outlet for years. I'm beginning to realise it's not only really ugly, it's untidy and doesn't sit anywhere nicely 🤔
-
• #15790
The cheap chinese ones with non-isolated outputs can be a bit noisy/not give enough headroom for some pedals. that said I used cheap ones for a long time with no real issues. These Harley Benton ones are meant to be good value for isolated: https://www.thomann.co.uk/harley_benton_powerplant_iso_2_pro.htm

• #15791
Yeah I’ve got that Harley Benton supply and I’ve had no issue with it. Does have an EU plug as standard but they include an adapter.

If you're not getting any ticking noises, hum or other background gremlins then you probably don't need a PSU with isolated outputs. As I've added a few digital pedals to my board I've been needing more power and a bit of isolation and landed with a Mosky ISO-10. It works well, I still have a couple of smaller daisy chains off it as I have more than 10 pedals but once I found which ones don't work nice together it's been nice and quiet, as well as cheap! Those Harley Benton were my alternative, they look great!

Thanks all, I might investigate the Harley Benton.

Amazing. Thanks, joined!

Also amazing, thanks! No burnig need for it to be MIJ - I just feel that the sweet spot in the balance between quality, heritage, vintage spec, slight quirkiness, value for money and that certain little something that just makes you feel like something is a keeper, keeps pointing at 90s MIJ. I wouldn't apriori rule out anything else, but that's just where I feel the everntual winner is likely to hail from.

• #15796
They are really good quality for the money. I have a couple of 6 output ones going spare if you want one for a beer?

I'm really liking this. Needs a darker less red pickguard but everything else is spot on. Super-tempted. If i'm being super picky, I am hoping for a Jamerson style sunburst as the the ultimate goal, but I can see this working out very nicely. Even tho I alraedy have way too many white guitars.
-
• #15798
Yeah I thought the white one looked nice too, got a bit of mojo on it. Agree on the PG.
I always like 3tsb when I see pictures on insta but I've had a few and always end up selling as I don't like the look when they're mine!
I have a really odd hankering for one of those Antigua monstrosities Squier have out at the moment but just can't justify another bass coming into the house when I'm not in a band or even doing very much playing at the moment!

Looks like Baguley has gone down the tubes. They’d been sending distress signals for a while, it’s a shame.
Seems like the demand for alu necks maybe just isn’t that big, once you’ve saturated the market.
Mine is currently living on my pink offset:
