Can anyone recommend a route from Leeds (Alwoodley) to Harrogate on fixed 48x18, without too many hills?
This was ok last week,
Also, can anyone recommend any good fixed routes around Otley, Ilkey?
ask tom (tilover) and kev (2wheelsgood) for harrogate routes. if you're on the fixed gear leeds facebook group ask Marek for good ilkley and otley routes although they are hilly
Leeds -> Otley with no hills you have to basically avoid the Chevin. So either the main road out past Adel that intersects pool bank. Or up through Horsforth and Rawdon into Guiseley and round to Otley...if you do this from Guiseley you can go straight on along the bottom of the valley to Menston/Burley in Wharfdale and Ilkley. There are always going to be some hills but those routes will avoid those that are particularly steep or long. Sadly it's the main roads that tend to be the least steep/hilly.
