  • dead? really, that's shitty dude. maybe a few of us will come up there for a weekend soon. My sis lives up there...

    I got family in Manchester I'd be up for a trip!

  • I'm in.
    When are we going?

  • Like now! I'm at Euston with EVERYONE! Where are you Em?

  • I'm at work.
    Give me 15 minutes to hand my notice in and I'll be there.

  • its been 26...

    1. Beardy Weirdies- (Rupert, Bill, Mark)
  • i theoretically object to malice holding a theoretical cup.

    +1 - we cannot guarantee that Malice would win in their current configuration.

    No, but seriously, guys. If events such as the league cannot offer a place for limited capacity events such as the Euros under the reason that said team would not perform as well due to new team formations, changes to winning team formations, further improvement of other teams, etc., then the only thing that should determine tournament placement should be a qualifier. A qualifier that would be organised in advance so as many people could make it as possible (as this would have FINAL say), and that would be close enough to said event to ensure as little change in potential performance as possible.

    (Though I think that last point is a bit whack, why should we want everything to end in the same order, changes in performance is part of the fun of London play, regardless of world placement.)

    Though, it would be a great incentive to keep a team together and play as hard as possible to not only win the Incredible League of London Polo, but also win a guaranteed spot in the Euros (in some crappy other town that is not the Incredible London of Famous London).

  • why can't the league JUST be a league. Not some pumped up bullshit to qualify for an unspecified tourney that we don't even know is happening yet.

    Yeah, what I said, surely no-one is entering the league for a place in a tournament next year. I'm in it to beat the Apples on a cold winters night at Newington :)

    Bring it.

  • I'm in it for beating your team too Louie :)

    EDIT: Oh no, Louie deleted his post, now mine makes no sense!

    Because nothing is JUST anything in London Bike Polo!

    Sorry, I was minus oning mikes +1, but you and em posted before me...

    The league will be awesome with or without the winner getting automatic entry into anything.

    And Sarah... we will see...

    But which things is it not going to be, if those things are not what they should be?

  • In the interest of moving this discussion toward a resolution:

    I would like to propose that I collect all of the proposals that have been put forward on this thread, that we vote on them individually, and then we start the league. I will do this this weekend, and post all of the potential issues to vote on here on Sunday. Hopefully we can haev a brief discussion to ensure that all the correct issues are up for vote, and then I'll post the polls and keep them open for 48 hours. Further, as part of my proposal, I would like to include the following:

    a) I include the original slate of issues for which there seems to be consensus as a single slate to be voted on;
    b) That we start the league on the week of Sept 14;
    c) That we close team registration on Sept 7.

    Any objections?

  • excellent vidal, do it.

  • Excellent.

  • Do it, Rockapella!

  • The Doctor has spoken.

    None here.

    +1 to this.

  • Would it not be sensible to start 2 weeks later so that the BFF is out of the way?

    With 20 teams? We'll still be playing in June.

  • Only if you're assuming that the games will be fortnightly, as per the last league.
    There have already been a few other suggestions which need to be considered and voted upon.
