DJ, I don't know you and neither have I seen you ride, or been around you when drivers have a go, so this is based entirely on the string of threads listed further up this thread. But if you're so convinced you're a cunt-magnet, then you must be doing SOMETHING to attract them. Agreed?

The common theme running through all of those listed threads (and others of your I've read) seems to be that you DON'T return stuff with force, implied or otherwise. You just raise the stakes in the insult game, or initiate the abuse (in response to something like a beeped horn) and then run away. Are you telling me that you are genuinely surprised that you have people trying to fight you for that?

Put it into a different context. You are in a pub and someone says "Watch it!" as you're walking through the pub innocently, because the two of you are about to bump and knock over the drinks he's carrying. You wouldn't immediately give him "the Nescafe shuffle" and called him a cunt to his face, or I'd expect you to get punched.

So if someone beeps a horn at you and you lay into them with abuse that you aren't prepared to back up with force, are you surprised that they chase you down to get THEIR pound of flesh back off of you?

If they beeped a horn, obviously THEY felt they had good reason to do it, even if they may have been in the wrong. They wouldn't have done it if they didn't think you'd done something wrong, or if they were giving you a warning that they were close behind you. However, if you stop, look round, look confused, "Me? Why..?!? What do you think I did wrong?" and then discuss, they might learn something, or you might find they meant something else by beeping the horn. If you just go straight for "You fucking cunt!" then what choices do you leave THEM with? "Oh yes, I'll just accept the shit from that cyclist who swore at me and then ran away, so I'll just toddle on my merry way and let it go shall I"? They either accept your abuse, or take issue with you. So what if they're not happy to accept it because they don't believe they are in the wrong?

What if they have the attitude the same as you, that if someone is rude to them, they'll give it back with extra force? How comes you have the right to escalate things and yet they don't? And how come you have the right to give people some pretty forceful abuse and they don't have the right to call you out on it? It seems that because you are a swearer, it's ok for everyone to swear, and you intend to be swearing with more force than they will. But because you're not a fighter, it's suddenly wrong for them to want to punch you when you swear at them.

When you break down some of your threads, there APPEARS to be a definite bias in favour of yourself, your own rights and your expectations, over the rights of others to be able to expect the same/similar, or have their own moral code which doesn't suit you. The problem is, they are GOING to have that moral code, whether you like it or not - and they don't need your approval to do so. And no amount of support from the forum in response to telling one side of a story will change the views of other people.

If you're worried about being a cunt magnet, consider what it is that YOU do to attract them.
