we do these quick release rear racks if you want another option for 8.95
box and strap it to the rack will work but a basket will look x100 cooler.

Yeh I dont like having things strapped onto the bike where I can't see them - but thanks for the idea.
I might end up buying one of those racks that mrs scoble as on hers, if I can get one in time - it would be pretty handy - I just dont have room to stash a large basket anwhere at home - but something thats a bit more adaptable might work.. -

i'm thinking of using it as an excuse to build a whole new bike...not that i can afford to build anything at the moment! hah.

Christ woman, you already have a potential 2 bikes that you need to build first!

My missus has a wire basket I'm sure you could borrow, but I don't know if it would be big enough to store a cake in flat. I shall measure it tonight and let you know. As you say a mrs scoble type rack with a shopping basket would be the best set up for a cake.

thanks Mr Lunch - I think the rack thing may be an investment for the future - but dont think I'll be able to get one sorted by Saturday, so if I can borrow your missus' one that would be great

Yeah no worries, I'll let you know how dimensions tonight and have a look at the attachments etc, I think she may have a wicker one as well.

what is it with women & baskets- I bought Mrs E a new Giant MTB in pale blue, all the gears, discs, etc and she wants, ok you guessed it, a flamin' basket, ffs!
She can ride, just, and basket hiding the front wheel isn't what I think she needs, but STILL wants basket. WHY?????

Ok Longshot - as Chain-fucking-reaction have fucked me over by sending me the Hamax Plus Basket I bought with the cunting bracket. Have rung around a few places but not looking feasible
Does anyone have a Hamax Plus Handlebar bracket that I could borrow and pick up this evening?

Hi Guys,
Need to transport a large carrot cake to a park this Saturday, has anyone got a wire or wicker large front basket they can lend me for the weekend?
Yes I realise this will look ridiculous on the new bike - but its better than a squashed cake!
Cheers
