Fishing is indeed still the biggest participation sport in the UK
Thankyou

well in the same way as running can be just something you do, or competitive, then fishing can be just a pastime, or something that you compete in
that's a sport
Cycling to me is not a sport but a past time

Would rather the Murray match was on this evening; the order-of-play committee are not thinking of the office-drones. Listening to it at work, while Pez yawns beside me. Wills and Kate are there I hear.

BBC news fella just asked Murray in his victorious interview whether he’d practiced bowing in preparation for doing so for the Royals when leaving the court. Why would he practice bowing, he’s a grown-lad, won’t kick himself in the forehead.

Federer's on it, hoping for an unlikely by the looks of it long match against Tsonga so I can catch plenty of the Murray match later.

Exactly. if you're fishing a match then it's a sport.
Sea angling can be quite physical, there's certainly a lot of technique and ability required for a decent pendulum cast.
Though sport cannot be judged on the level of physical exertion required, archery, shooting for example are tests of skill rather than effort.
