• The missus has her LCC cycling course on sat and the inverse brake lever upgrade for her bike isn't working so well as the bars she has are too small!

I need some moustache or promenade bars that will take inverse levers by Saturday morning. Preferably with a 25.4 clamp.

    Thanks,

  • your in luck my friend, i've about 5 pairs here. i'll go through then in the morning and let you know what i have.i'm sure i'll havesomething and i can get them to you before then.

my girlfriend uses them and loves them, she's convince she's riding around paris looking chic.whatever makes her happy.

i'll give you a shout in the morning.

  • Awesome. Thanks rob

  • Hey Soul,

When you say inverse lever, do you mean bar end lever?
Ie inserted into the moustache bar so the lever faces forward, the reverse of how it would be on pursuit bars etc?
    Make any sense?

I ask as that's what I'm after for a fairly similar reason. In which case @ organicorigin:
do you have a 2nd pair of bars Rob?

    Cheers
    Thomas

  • Yup, that would be the case. I'm sure he wont mind me sharing so here are the ones he has available:

I have taken the ones at the top of the picture.

  • Unfortunately the ones that I bought had the wrong internal bar diameter for inverse brake levers...

Anyone got some moustache or promenade bars ASAP? Need them for Saturday afternoon.

    Thanks

  • Ive got some Nitto promenade bars, do a search for threads started by me it will be on the one with the Concorde frame. £20 and I'm around today!

Thanks, ~~Not sure what the difference is between those and the 602's ~~ but i have the 602s and they don't fit bar end levers.... any chance you can measure the internal diameter?

It's ok; i UTFS and they are the chrome version of the bars i already have. Thanks though.

  • Ah no worries mate, good luck!

Sometimes it can be solved with a little bit of sanding on the inside of the bar. My CLB inverse levers are about .5mm bigger than my bars can take, I reckon with a little sanding or a dremel they should fit nicely.

Velo Orange produces road bar sized moustache bars for your levers if all else fails:

Freshtripe stocks them in the UK (I think).

Thanks. Already spoke to Freshtripe and they couldn't post them in time!?! Might have something sorted now anyway.

  • let me know if you sdon't get sorted, have some on-one mungo's available in west London, but only if you're desparate cos i wanted to fit them to something at some stage!

Thanks. I'm after silver bars though. We have postponed what we were doing tomorrow anyway so i'm going to order the nitto Montmartre bars of ebay.
